MKG for Wilson Chandler and Juan Hernangomez
Chandler is expiring and can do MKGs role while also being able to shoot and reunite the Hernangomez bros (i dont actually know if they are related, but they're the same age and both spanish so im saying they are)

Zeller and Stone for Mudiay and Lee.
We take a swing on Mudiay to see if he can be the backup PG and get Lee back in Charlotte.

Add Cleveland to the trade. Send Melo to the Cavs , they get him to help convince LeBron to stay. Cavs send us George Hill, who would backup Kemba, and be a perfect pairing with Monk

Mudiay is hot garbage, and Im more than content with our 2 guard position right now/

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Put together some save Michael Jordan money and improve the team at the same time trades:
Trade 1 with San Antonio and Orlando
CHA Out Howard and Batum
CHA In Gasol, Fournier, and Lauvergne
SAS Out Gasol, Mills, Gay, Lauvergne
SAS In Batum, Vucevic, and Augustin
ORL Out Fournier, Augustin, Vucevic
ORL In Howard, Gay, Mills
Trade 2 with the LA Clippers
CHA Out Williams
CHA In Beverley and Wes Johnson
Kemba/Beverley
Lamb/Monk
Fournier/MKG
Zeller/Johnson
Kaminsky/Gasol
Reserves: Lauvergne, Bacon, Willy, and 2018 1st
MJ saves about $50 million and the team now has the cap flexibility to make things happen next summer, whether Kemba walks or not.

I believe Melo has a no trade but if he wanted to leave it might be worth looking into. He does have a horrible contract but it does have two years less than Batum’s. What do y’all think?
Why would the Thunder ever wanna do this? If I’m Presti, I’d need a lot more than Batum. I’d be demanding a pick...not cuz Melo is anything special, but because Batum’s contract is trash even before u consider how horrible he played this year

Re: Fake Trade Thread
I just saw that the Bucks are interviewing Clifford. I wonder how likely a Howard trade to reunite him with Clifford would be? I'd think about a Henson/Delly swap to give them more cap space next summer, but they'd have to provide extra incentive.
We'd have to follow that up by finding an expiring for Marvin, so maybe taking on an additional 19 million isn't the best idea?

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Forget about it. The Bucks have no expirings so no fit for Marvin and certainly not taking on money for Dwight's expiring. We need it more.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
If we can't find a team to swap expirings + a little extra value for Dwight, or just a better fitting player who is expiring (Wes Matthews?) then we might be better off just buying him out. I like the idea of keeping his expiring cap space, but I don't really want him anywhere near this team. Maybe if whoever we hire as coach is confident they can somehow get him to buy in to a completely different playstyle, but I think Howard is probably as delusional as Melo about his game, so its kind of hard to imagine.

Carroll for Marvin + 2nd
Basically the same player, but Carroll is expiring.

Dwight for Robin Lopez
Both expiring, Bulls have cap to take Dwight without trading other stuff.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Lopez isn't really a necessity for us since I like the Zeller/Willy duo at center but I do it purely for the $10M in cap savings.
I'm less certain about Marv/Carroll though. I think Marvin has value. Carroll had a decent year with Brooklyn, but is nowhere near the shooter Marvin is, and not quite the defender anymore either. He hasn't been the same since he got hurt in Toronto. I'd like it more if we already had a Jabari/Love/other upgraded PF trade lined up.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
How much you want Batum gone ? Would you swap Batum and Monk for Biyombo and Ross ? You would get dead weight in Biyombo but for 1 year less than Batum, and good sg to play next to Kemba on a great contract ( i think Simmons is worse for you becouse he is not shooter Ross is). Maybe you have some interest for Vucevic ?
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I have interest in Vucevic because he can pass and shoot a bit, but no interest in adding Biz with Dwight and Cody both still on the roster. And we already have Lamb, who is cheaper and every bit as good as Ross. And I really hope we aren't dumb enough to use Monk to dump Batum.

Think about how interested you would be in trading us Isaac + Biyombo for Dwight Howard in order to get out of Biyombo's contract a single season sooner and you should have your answer.

We already have four rotation worthy centers (if you count Howard). We need to get rid of centers, not acquire more.
Batum's deal is terrible, but we aren't in a position to be getting rid of our best assets for cap space that we aren't going to be able to attract free agents with anyways. The only player on Orlando that we might be interested that there is any chance of them giving up is probably Fournier.

LOL this is spot on. What a terrible trade.
It's even worse since Batum is actually a good player, just overpaid.

Well yeah trade was terrible i agree, just wanted to start some discussion. Maybe Vucevic and Ross for Batum and this years first ? Both Vucevic and Ross are on a good 2 year deals, we take Batum Huge contract and get an additional asset. Just dont bash me, you must always start high in negotiations

Even if you start high, you have to start with something remotely reasonable, otherwise you're going to turn people away.zaymon wrote:MotorKeepsGoing wrote:Braggins wrote:Think about how interested you would be in trading us Isaac + Biyombo for Dwight Howard in order to get out of Biyombo's contract a single season sooner and you should have your answer.

I don't touch that Vuc/Ross for Batum/11 trade either. Even though both are expiring next summer, and Batum runs two more years after, what do we gain as a team? Ross serves no purpose to a team that already has Lamb, is invested heavily in Monk, and needs minutes for guys like Bacon and Graham too. He is not a good player and would rot on our bench. Vucevic is a single season upgrade over Hernangomez and probably Zeller too, but doesn't fit with our starters. I don't really value either player as more than a stopgap piece. Shedding Nic's deal is an incentive, but I don't give away #11 just to move it.
I'll keep saying it as long as people keep trying to do it, we're not going to dump Nic with a lottery pick attached. That's a no-win situation for several reasons: 1) If we're blowing it up and tanking, we need picks more than cap space 2) if we're competing, trading away both Nic and #11 leaves us without two pieces that make us better as a team 3) shedding Nic doesn't magically give us $20M in cap space. We are not able to do anything with the money we save- we'd still be right around the cap.
There is a time and a place for that kind of move, but we're not in that situation right now, and it shouldn't be done with a lottery pick no matter what.
