Jones is 21, has a ts% of 57%, was 7th among point guards in RPM, and really knows how to run a smooth offense IMO.

If the guys I like at 22 are all gone (Robinson, Simons, Zhaire, Walker, Knox, Williams, Musa), I would trade it for Jones and hope he breaks out with more minutes.

Guy simply isn't worth the 22. I'd take Jones with Aldrich just to open cap flexibility for Minnesota. No chance I'd trade a pick like 22 for one season of Jones.

Jones would be a long term piece.

Give me someone tangible you're drafting at 22 that I didn't list.

Your trade is obviosuly better for the Bulls, but I can't see Minnesota doing that.

I'm not trading 22 in the draft to get a THIRD PG on the fourth year of their rookie deal for next season. I don't know what Tyus Jones has really shown to be worth a first, which is incredibly valuable in today's NBA judging by the trade deadline.

The idea that the draft is going to "run out" of guys i'd want at 22 to take a guard that just got replaced end of the year by an off-the-street Derrick Rose in the rotation is simply overpaying. I don't have to give a list because there is a zero percent chance that at 22 of any draft I'm going to say "I'm out of guys I like". No draft is ever that shallow.

Minnesota is in cap hell, giving them any salvation to improve the team while not going in to the tax is probably worth it for them and saving nine million helps them use the MLE to get a more valuable player than Jones.

There's no way the Lakers include Ingram in any deal unless it's for a top 20 player, and that's only if they know Lebron is coming.

Jones was second on the depth chart in Minnesota during the season, and is currently second on the depth chart. Rose is a free agent that Thibs may want to bring back. Jones often looked better than Teague throughout the season.

Jones would battle Dunn for starting point.

What has he shown? Second in DRPM, 7th in RPM. Good improvement from year one to year two and even bigger from year two to year three. He has CLEARLY shown quite a bit.

Here's a fun game. One player is 29 year old Teague, one is 21 year Jones, and one is 24 year old Dunn.

VORP: 1.3, 0.9, 0.7
BPM: 0.2, 0.5. -0.1
TS%: 55%, 57%, 49%

Can't post RPM because neither is close to Jones.

A pick in the 20s or similar value is what many on the trade board has his value as, and I'm inclined to agree.

The more talk there is about Lebron James changing teams one way or another and Leonard leaving the Spurs among others the more I think the Bulls should get through the draft and see what starts spinning around. They still have some room under the cap and tax so if teams decide to go all in for one of the big names on the market and want to clear space the Bulls should see how they can take a contract or two of contributing players that teams are trying to move to get their 2 max guys.

When some teams get superstars in their eyes they tend to make some stupid moves to get them and the Bulls could get themselves in position to steal a deal.

I was thinking Parsons / 4 for 7

...or, if Bos moves on from Hayward w their young wings stepping up.

Chi gets - Parsons + future picks (viaBOS)
Bos gets - 4
Mem gets - Hayward, Portis

Just a base. Basically BOS gets a center, Mem goes w a Conley/Hayward/Gasol big 3, we take on a ton of money to help facilitate for future pix (BOS could have 4 1sts next year alone)

I like both of those trades. Don't know what GM's think though. Portis for #13 and #22 makes sense for Clips IMO.

#13 for Ingram and Deng looks good for Bulls but it only looks good for Lakers if they have a guy they are targeting at #13.

On the flip side if we could get JJJ at 6 and Ingram for #22 and Portis... That would be ridiculous!

Dunn
Lavine
Ingram
Lauri
JJJ

For a Jerry West team, I would expect nothing less than him winning Markkanen and the 22nd for the 13th.

There has never been a year since Tyus was a Senior in High School that Kris Dunn has been a better basketball player than Tyus Jones. That continues today and will continue to for the foreseeable future.

If the Bulls wanted Tyus Jones they would have asked for him instead of Dunn.

I have a bunch of friends who live in Minnesota and they absolutely hate Tyrus Jones. These guys are real knowledgeable guys to. His pick n roll defense is terrible. His on ball defense is terrible. In the playoffs he will get exposed. You can’t have weak defenders on the perimeter anymore.

If Doncic goes #1 and Sacto drafts Ayton, I wonder if we could trade Portis (plus maybe filler) for WCS. He really seemed to come into his own last year, but I'm not sure he's a good fit next to Ayton.

Exploring a trade with Minnesota to clear them some cap:

Jerian Grant for Cole Aldrich, Tyus Jones and #20, Minny clears some cap and gets a combo guard that has a better PER than Jones, we get Jones and #20 for clearing them at least some cap.

I'd like the Bulls to move up ahead of Dallas if possible because I'd really like to see a Bull's unicorn front court of Lauri and Bamba. With the league going "small" and wing oriented very few teams will be able to matchup with our two bigs. The improved defense, the spacing.....But looking at the Current rosters of Sacramento, Atlanta and Memphis and I don't see a screaming need for any of our current expendable non starters like Valentine or Porter. I'm not sure if a package of #7 + #22 + a player will pry a higher pick away. And I don't want to sacrifice future first rounders. Memphis might be the best bet. Gasol is 33 years old. The bottom of their roster is filler. They might know they can "settle" with Wendell Carter as the heir apparent to Gasol and pick up a solid contributor at 22 and whatever player that goes along for the trade. That roster is so bogged down by huge contracts. Conley at $28 Million? Sacramento might be more open to a trade if Doncic goes to Phoenix. If they take Ayton they have no reason to keep WCS. Maybe they'd part with him for #22 and a player? Then we could expend our #7 on either MPJ or Bridges.

Is Sacramento looking for WCS to work next to Ayton?

I think WCS is a decent player, but I'd rather keep Portis.

Felicio/22 for Noah/Ntilikina anyone? Just a bit of a random one.
