I am not one of those fans who sees a player struggling and says, well he sucks. I look at his role, his personnel grouping, his ability to fit said scheme and his ability to adjust to said scheme. I see the ENTIRE game. Not just if he can pass, rebound, shoot, has the tools. I look at everything. So when you said Al Horford, I see something different. I don't know what you see, but if you don't see what I see, that's fine but I just want you to acknowledge what I see and understand the effect it has on Millsap, Noah, Kyrie, IT and other players he's played with in the past. The man literally single-handedly made Kyle Korver an All Star. Name one player in NBA history who could do that?
As a celtic fan, I gotta say, chill.
You are saying "Al is a top 10 player and I know this because I'm smarter than you all who disagree". It is worded politely, but your attitude about that is clear. Not a good look imo
I dont really care about others opinions on Horford. I value my opinion a lot more when the topic is him, LeBron or a couple other players. That is no disrespect to you but coming to me saying chill is meaningless to me. I don't know you and frankly, I dont care about others feelings like that. Never have. Never will if the topic is hoops and particular players who I know in and out on the court. I am willing to listen and hear you out if you have an opinion but if you judging me. I will politely ask you to fall back or just bounce.
I see the game differently. The only people who see the game like I do are some GMs like Ainge, coaches and scouts. Even Boston players dont realize how much easier Al makes the game for them.
I appreciate the politeness, but you have missed the essence of my post. I'm not judging you, nor am I disagreeing with you. I'm judging your behavior; rather, bringing light to how you are expressing this opinion. My post isnt about disagreeing with you, nor is it about Al.
You have every right to your opinion, it may be correct. But the way you chose to express it comes off as arrogant, as a know-it-all, superior, and indirectly tells us you feel you are smarter than those who disagree...atleast about basketball, whether it's deliberate or not. You can express your opinion and validate it just as without that general approach. You are well spoken, and very polite and I can respect that very much.
But If your goal is to prove to us and educate us why Al is THAT impactful (which I assume you are, given the thread, and I'm willing to listen, he's on my team! :]), this kind of passive agression interferes with rationale discussion and leads to communication breakdown. More people would be willing to hear you out and be educated otherwise. I meant no offense
