I went Okobo, PG that can shoot is what we need, I leave it up to Bud to teach him plays and D.
Melton is runner up as he would be a menace on D in addition to having a high IQ, it's just the questionable shooting that we can't really afford to risk right now.

It will be very interesting to see how Bud handles the PG position. I cant imagine he will want to go forward with Bledsoe after trying to push Teague out the door in Atlanta. If we do draft a guard I bet Bud tries to bring him along quickly like he did with Schroder, but Schroder was a decent defender to begin with.

Schroder was drafted the summer that Bud was hired as coach 2013, he was given PBO in 2015

I totally agree.

Same. That is always the comparison I think of. Lavine is the better shooter and Smith is a much better defender. Smith's shot does not look that bad to me though so I like him even better than Lavine as a prospect and I am a huge Lavine fan.

It doesn't have to be at 17, but just get me Jalen Brunson

That's why I'm slowly talking myself intro Jarred Vanderbilt, if he's healthy he's potentially a Dennis Rodman-esque rebounder and defender who can also pass and run the fast break.

My worry with Okobo is that he only goes left. Not the world's largest flaw, but it means he can't run a lot of that PnR action to get Giannis the ball on the left side, as that entails only going right. If he was a right handed player, I'd much prefer him, but being lefty is a disadvantage, since it leaves him out of sync with the rest of the team.
But he still might be my favorite prospect likely to be there at 17, a guy with decent physical attributes that can shoot and pass of dribble would be very valuable.
And, yeah, on ball defense matters. Bledsoe is the only Buck that is good at on ball defense and that is a big reason he helped the team this season despite being a trash defender off the ball.

Looks like Larry Sanders on offense. If you want this type of player, you could probably get him from OKL in Roberson. I just don't see how either are playable with Giannis on the court unless we draft a real PG.

I think simply changing our scheme to CARE about rebounding as a team will probably go a long way. So I am less interested in drafting that, with our length that should be correctable with what we have, to at least be an average rebounding team.

A real PG makes it even harder to have a limited center. If you run a PG centric offense, that turns Giannis into the cutter/garbage man on offense do to Giannis being trash at playing next to a PG, so then you need to have three shooters next to Giannis and the PG.
I like Bledsoe more than many Bucks fans do, but he is useless if Bucks can't find a shooter to play at C next to Giannis.

Bledsoe was exposed in the playoffs because he couldn’t move laterally to stay in front of Rozier. Any crossover got him an open 3 and all Bledsoe could do is stand and watch.

Bledsoe is still so much better laterally than any other player. Most PGs are slower laterally than Bledsoe.
How many times did Rozier hit Bledsoe with a crossover like that? Once, when Bledsoe tried to defend the pass and got too far from Rozier.
One of the reasons Bucks struggled early is that Brogdon is a terrible defender of PGs, couldn't contain penetration. Snell, Giannis, Middleton, and Jabari are all also trash at containing dribble penetration.
Bledsoe is literally the most difficult Buck to cross up. He stays with guys one on one. His defense was bad in postseason, but lacking quickness was not why.

I've watched a lot of film an Okobo and I'll show you that this is a non-issue when I get home. He's been going right plenty of times as the season went on with decent success. Can finish with his right too though finishing isn't his strong suit.
I'll be honest I have Okobo at 7 right now and as the first guard off the board. I'd be ecstatic if the Bucks were to draft him.

Still interested where Malik Newman ends up getting drafted. Imo he's going to be a very good pro and a steal if he lasts till the mid second round.

Is this guy a center? I thought he was a SF?
