Straight truth. The players know exactly what they are gonna do. Dumb JR already told everyone that Lebron was going to LAL. He and Paul George are already teaming up. Like it has been mentioned, I don't think James cares all that much about winning and its about his kids and quality of life. There is no place better in America to be filthy rich than LA.

More smoke. Call their bluff some other team not named Phoenix. I want him, but not for the max.

Just not sure if we'd have the money to take him away from Indy.

I think we can't afford to bring in people who cannot shoot the 3 above avg at least.

That includes Doncic?

I think Doncic will be a fine shooter. I know him and Trae struggled when defenses picked them up halfcourt and they took a lot of shots off the dribble, but they are both big time shot makers.

I mean I wouldn't rule out adding Ayton, Doncic or Young just because they shot below NBA league avg from 3 because I think they can can get there....Doncic and Young especially will benefit from so much more spacing and less defensive attention.

I'm talking about free agency here in the free agency and trade thread and spending a lot of money on a vet addition.

I think Doncic will be fine too, but it's probably worth mentioning that Trae still shot 5% better on the same number of total attempts in half the games played. In the right situation I could easily see Trae shooting around 40% from 3 on day 1. His ~36% from NBA 3 in college also puts him right around NBA league average for this year.

Not trying to discredit Luka, I just think Trae shouldn't be looped into the guys that have questions about their NBA range.

Yeah, he's just a tad below average. I think Trae will be a better shooter than Doncic as well, but I know they had similar struggles large in part because they were the focus of the defense and their %s dropped over time. Doncic had a long season and it dropped over time. Prior to 17-18 in his early time as a pro he was at 36% as well, similar to Trae's first year.

If Trae played another year and saw the defensive focus he saw in the second half, against tough competition and defensive focus, it might have a similar drop. I mean if you just look at the conference play once the competition ramped up his 3 pt % was at 32.6% from 3. That was about 2/3 of his season.

I don't think anyone wants to trade TJ just for the sake of trading him. He gets brought up in some deals because frankly he's the only guy making real money on this team that another team might want back if the Suns are going after a bigger target. With that said I fully expect him to be back next season and I actually expect he plays a more 4 than he has in the past. With a guy like Ayton at the 5 they should be able to get away with playing a smaller 4 and not get killed on the boards.

I wonder who will join Lebron and PG in LA?

I bet the Celtics make a big move too.

George and James to LA makes them pretty formidable I would say

still think if James wants to win - go to Houston or George but hey, not a bad combo

He's making 12mil a year. Not a terrible number, but that's starter money and he likely won't be a starter much longer.

If there's a deal for a player like Kemba or a deal that nets us Luka, moving Warren shouldn't be the hold-up IMO.

Also those problems make him more valuable to us than others. He is not going to tip the scales on any deal because to us he is worth more than his 12 mil easily, but to others he is about right at that. Makes trading him just academic rather than helpful. Might as well keep him.

I agree and I want to add that he has never played for $12M per year yet.

His new contract starts next season, his production has always been under rookie's contract.

But you agree that going forward that he is well worth his 12 million dollar contract in today's market correct?

This is kind of a tough question. It's a better deal than a lot of the contracts handed out a couple summers ago but I'm not sure he would have got that deal as a RFA this summer. Its a very tight market and he's kind of an odd fit on some teams.

Seeing Lou Williams take I think 8mil per from LA makes me question if Warren is not considered overpaid or not. Since he's still young, maybe not, but Williams is certainly more valuable. We'll see how guys like Smart and Beverly do over the next summer or 2.

I dont know.....i think the Clippers could put a better team around him. Still would be in LA and wouldnt be like every other player going to the Lakers to try to win their 257th title, could be the first guy to do it under the Clippers banner, which in my opinion would do more for his legacy than doing it as a Laker.

I'd rather him go to the Clippers, but they don't really have the cap space. The Cavs are unlikely to take back any bad vet salary at all in a S&T since they are well into luxury tax...doesn't make sense for that team.

Lakers could immediately run Ball/Ingram/George/LeBron/Zubac with Kuzma and Hart. If they could unload Deng they could add another big name or keep Randle or whatever.

It's just much easier for them since they pretty much have two max slots sitting there.

Clips are WAY over the cap ($33 million) if the players opt in and I expect them to. Even if Jordan opts out they are still like $7 million over. So there is really no way to get LeBron unless you gut the team and give away a bunch of assets to move people.

I was just messing with you by taking a jab at Doncic's shooting, just to show that I could get you to disprove or rationalize a weakness of his and then I could call you a Doncic "fanboy or worshiper." Kind of like people feel the need to do to me because I love Ayton's potential and defend Ayton's weakness, which is his defense. I really don't like to play that game like some here, but I could be just as manipulative with posters I disagree with. "Oh he loves Ayton so don't listen to his take because Ayton can do no wrong."

Its all good BW
