The Atlanta Hawks very well could control the direction of the draft at No. 3 as they zero in on either selecting Luka Doncic, or trading the slot to a team looking to move up to select him.

"Teams know this right now, they have to get to No. 3 to get Luka Doncic," said Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN's Wednesday evening draft coverage.

"Dallas at No. 5 has been knocking at that door," added Wojnarowski.

The Orlando Magic and even the Denver Nuggets also have interest in trading up for Doncic, according to Wojnarowski.

If the Hawks trade down, they could target Trae Young.

We move up for a center that doesn’t compliment our best player in any way. This is either a trade up attempt for Luka or worse, Trae/MPJ.

I was really warming up to Knox.

KP to Spurs Kawhi to Lakers Lonzo Ingram to Knicks in the works

Sign me up especially if we can get the Spurs 18 or Murray from the Spurs

Naa Spurs would like to keep the 18 to replace Kawhi and Dejounte will leave a gaping hole

Declaring someone the next Donovan Mitchell means you would take him with a top 3 pick.

Would you take Lonnie Walker with a top 3 pick?

i'd take parsons back if we can swing a three-way by which we move up to 2 to grab doncic, SAC gets 4 to target bagley/porter and mem gets our 9. i'd give up our whole team outside of KP and take on any bad contract under the sun without even thinking twice about it to have a guaranteed decade of doncic in nyc.

Do we even have space for Kyrie with Parsons' deal on the books?

Just did the math... assuming we trade CLee, bring back nobody this summer (Kanter, KOQ), and waive every non guaranteed deal (Lance, Dotson) and QO (Baker, Troy), we have...

Noah- 6.43 (stretched 19.3/3)
THJr- 18.15
KP- 7.5 x 3 (cap hold 22.5)
Frank- 4.85
Parsons- 25.1
#4 pick- 6.0 (approx)
2019 top 4 pick- 6.0 (approx)

Equals about 90 mil. The cap is 108 next year.

Can we stretch 2 players at once? If so, you’d have enough. If not, you’d have to find a THJ taker.

Yea, the Clippers stretched two players in the same offseason, but we can’t stretch a player if the total of our waived player commitment exceeds 15% of the salary cap. Noah makes 19.3 so that’s 18% of the cap, so I think (if I’m interpreting it right) that disqualifies us from stretching Parsons.

”A team is not permitted to stretch the team salary charge if in any future season the team salary charges for all the team's waived players (and other former players) would add up to more than 15% of the salary cap for the season in which the player is waived” - Larry Coon FAQ

OT: Cavs Draft board
The Cavs are entering into the draft with the intention of making a selection that they will keep on their team next season. There is interest in finding a young playmaker to add to their veteran core, and Cleveland believes it will have the opportunity to choose from an available player pool that will include the likes of Collin Sexton, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., Kevin Knox, Mikal Bridges and others.

I can see Memphis trading Parsons and 4th pick for Lee, Lance, and the 9th. Memphis is trying to win now and both would be solid additions. Parsons is Noah bad at this point.

I'll leave it up to Perry.

Many reports have stated using #4 to get rid of Parsons and nothing about them demanding anything major back.

They aren't just using the #4 pick for pure salary dump. That would be insanity.

Paying Parsons $25 mil a year for 2 more years is insanity.

Which is why we have a chance...we got Noah so it's redundant insanity
