My rationale is that outside of perhaps Houston, the other teams don't really favor outright athleticism or a big to win. Sure Spurs have a history with bigs but let's not forget Duncan/Robinson came into the league seasoned, highly skilled, with strong fundamentals, with a high IQ and of course were also elite athletically. These teams give minutes to players with high IQ and can make the right plays within the system on both ends of the court.
I gave Ayton to the Warriors because I think adding Doncic would be a bit redundant with so many ball handlers and shooters on the team already.
I don't think the Warriors would want to throw it into a big as much. I could see Doncic playing like the Iggy role in the future. He basically plays 3 with Durant and Draymond at 4/5...and he doesn't take a ton of shots but can find everyone and get to the line and finish.
He might make everyone even better and be great off ball. I could see Houston going either way...I think they'd like a guy like Doncic more but they just put defenders on the wing to counter GS so with Harden and Paul they could go another big.
About the Spurs..yeah, Duncan and Robinson were skilled and had more years but most all players were at that time. I think he'd have a hard time passing on a big like Ayton after relying on one for 20 years....and Ayton is skilled.
Ainge has drafted a lot of athletes...Jaylen Brown for one. I still think he'd go Ayton, particularly with Brown, Tatum and Hayward on the wing and Horford getting older.
From the Warriors standpoint, he'll be almost just a rim running stretch 5. I don't really see them needing another ball handler/creator at the wings.
I didn't go with a big for Houston because I think for the most part, Capella does much of what Bamba or Ayton would do but with better defense. But with Ayton's ability to stretch the D, I could certainly see them going both ways too. The reason I went with Doncic is because CP3 is always injured leaving Harden as the sole creator.
I don't see Pop's going for Ayton to be honest, despite their history with bigs. I just think they value the IQ, fundamentals, all around skills and coachability of Doncic. Just a matter of opinion
For Ainge I could've gone Ayton because I think he *could* be hidden somewhat defensively if they already have a team full of defenders and offensively he could do some real damage.
