I think we determined that this either used to be in place in past CBAs or we got it confused with packaging with trade exceptions.

Nah, you can trade him with other stuff. I don't think that rule is in the current CBA.

Oh, alright. Good to know.

It used to be in the old CBA for sure. Not sure if it changed.

Pipe dream: trade up for Luka or JJJ
Dream: trade up for Trae or Miles
Hopeful: draft Huerter, Zhaire Smith, SGA
Good with: draft (or even better trading back for) Robert Williams, Melton, J. Evans, M. Robinson, Okobo, Okogie, Musa
Nightmare: draft Jerome Robinson, Holiday, Divencenzo at 17

You're welcome. Thanks for asking a RFA S&T question in a draft thread.

Would have Huerter and a few others over Divincenzo but why are some so against Donte? Is it just not liking him at 17 (which I get) or not liking him as a prospect at all?

I don't think it was ever a rule. Look up what the Nets did with Bogans to make the Garnett/Pierce/JET deal work.

I mostly don't think he's a first round caliber prospect. The only reason he's being discussed there is because of his tournament heroics.

You're correct in that it wasn't.

He isn't efficient
His combine numbers didn't test off the charts
He only had one big game that is over inflating his value, otherwise he'd be a late second rounder
He doesn't have good size
He doesn't appear to be a well rounded player
He is one dimensional scoring
He doesn't try on defense
He can't shoot off the dribble
He isn't being mocked in the first round at all

Spoiler:
Whoops, all these things appear to be mistaken

You're welcome. Thanks for asking a RFA S&T question in a draft thread.

Is that really the reason why you're so annoyed by a simple question that you're responding with such irritation? I asked it because multiple people were posting proposed S&T offers in this thread involving Jabari and picks and I wanted to confirm what the rules were. The last time I was engaged in a dialogue about this, I was under the impression you couldn't package him. I now know otherwise.

I don't read every post on this board. I check out on some of the threads from time-to-time when life gets in the way. If that bothers you, I don't know what to do to assuage your frustration. But in the future, if you're annoyed by a question I'm asking, you're free to ignore it. Thanks.

Donte is an older prospect who didn't start and played a role on his college team. A very good college team but we've seen this movie before... I fully expect him to be better than DJ Wilson but I can get excited about a lot of other guys who will be there at 17.

Jabari is not under contract right now. He cannot be S&T for anything in the draft tonight since free agency hasn't started yet, and assuming that he would want to sign an extension without testing the FA waters is pretty presumptive. This means any trade planned around him this evening would fall apart, and would have very odd numbers attached to it nonetheless (with the BYC escalator).

This means Wendell Carter is almost certainly on the board at 8...

I am ok with J Robinson and Holiday because they have proven that they can score. I am ok with Okobo as well. Need more scores for that 2nd unit.
