If you're an upperclassmen and don't have elite physical tools, then there has to be some elite skill potential there. I don't see that with DiVincenzo at all. Classic case of a guy who's gonna look great in scrimmages and controlled athletic testing because he's simply trying harder than most other guys. I'll never dock him for his work ethic and intensity, that's for sure.
Take the big tournament out of it.
Wright doesn't play a ton of young guys, so no big surprise that he doesn't get big name recruits. But with that said, he was playing behind the Big East Player of the Year his sophomore season (Josh Hart) and the player of the year (Brunson).
If that isn't being "blocked" I don't know what is...but in spite of that, he was their 5th leading scorer last year on good efficiency, and third leading scorer on even better efficiency this year. And his nickname is the "the big Ragu", that's reason to draft him on its own.
I think people are just suggesting he is in play because of the championship game, and maybe while true for some, there is plenty there to like.
Oh and he has a reputation for working harder than most guys in real basketball games too.
