And yet he appears to be one of the most high impact players in the league. When Embiid is on the court the Sixers regularly play like a title contender and when he leaves the game or sits out they usually don't. If you were putting together a list of highest impact players in the league you'd only have a handful before you had to include Embiid.
He’s a really good player, but
people act like he’s top 10 in impact, when he’s not.
I agree with the great mathematician and that goes for Simmons as well. Down the road both will be top 10 but not now. Covington, Oladipo (included VO) and Embiid are not all defensive team worthy. Steals and blocks =/ all Defensive team. How does a team with Embiid, Covington and Simmons lose to the Celtics because Tatum, Rozier, Brown and Horford were playing well above their averages offensively? Tatum averaged 24 pts as a 19 year old rookie while Smart also having a great series. Embiid plays more like KAT or Cousins. I'd take Smart over Covington not only for defensive purposes but because he's a better overall player.
76ers' potential is still very high but I don't see it yet. Their core gets overrated. Fultz doesn't fit on that team because of Simmons and Fultz can't shoot. Imo, Lebron should join the Celtics and make amends with Kyrie. If not the Celtics, join Kahwi in LA, Harden in Houston or even the Warriors before considering the 76ers.
Professional sports is idolatry.
