If the Lakers are still pushing Deng out there Bayless should be used in the same. Shouldn’t oversell for a potential rental.

Spurs are NOT taking the Deng contract. They're clear on that as they don't need to.
Well that's the price for 2 young players. Why should the Lakers even offer 2 of them when the Celtics didn't even offer Jaylen Brown? **** that.
Spurs don’t have to accept Deng. They can be spiteful and take less from other teams.

That's ok. Lakers only have to worry about their own team. If the Spurs are willing to accept a worse offer from another team, more power to them. They're the ones that will have to explain it to their season ticket holders.

That would be incredibly dumb, like beyond stupid to wait until then. KL is a free agent next summer, so if they spurs wait until the deadline, they would get absolute garbage offers because everyone knows KL is leaving in 4 months. The best thing to do is find out what teams would KL extend with if traded and make those teams bid against each other.

Pretty sure when they say they did this because “F the Lakers” the fans will applaud them. Feel like season ticket holders and hardcore fans would be more upset seeing their guy in a laker jersey.

Absolutely. The Bayless contract is only 1/4 as toxic as the Deng contract, so including him should be no big deal.
Jerryd Bayless is owed $8.5M for this year then he expires.
Luol Deng is owed $18M for this year and $18.8M next year for a total of $36.8M in toxic money over 2 years.
It's absurd homerism for Laker fans to expect the Spurs to eat Deng's toxic deal while claiming the Sixers' reported offer of Saric, Covington, Smith, and a future 1st is not a good offer.

I also think if he has no assurances from one of the other players that they will be in LA, he will just opt in, and see what the Cavs do this summer.

I can’t imagine that Philly would actually offer that without an extension promised.
Fultz has 0 value, Smith hasn't played a single game in the NBA, Saric is your average SF and the pick is 3 years from now. By that time Miami is likely to be a solid PO team. This package is crap. We are talking about Top 2 player.
