Trae Young and Kevin Heurter were drafted to be Steph and Klay, but they'll be the worst defensive backcourt in the league even if they both hit on their offensive potential. Really not a fan of the moves Atlanta made.
Oh I'm sure their defense will be bad for a while but funny thing is Young's defense may not be significantly worse than Dennis Schroder who literally rolled out the red carpet for opposing guards.
This draft is about 4-5 years down the road for them. In today's NBA, erring on the side of SKILL is probably a recipe for success. Huerter will be a SF by then. Young will have hopefully added some strength and worked on getting athletic and quicker.
One thing I noticed about both of them - they both start off their shot looking like their shooting an old-fashioned set shot. They don't release it like that, but I think they'll get a lot of shots blocked if they don't adjust their form. Either that, or they'll be shooting 30 footers and pissing off their teammates and fans. Granted, they both have tremendous shooting range.
