He has played 71 games out of a possible 164 games in the last 2 seasons.
Risky to throw major $$$ at him.
That being said, if the Kings do successfully nab Lavine, he's the starting 2 guard next to Fox. He played PG in his first year with Minny but he isn't one. He simply doesn't have the natural instincts to be one. That is why Minny moved away from that experiment -- rightfully so. For me, it looks like:
Fox
LaVine
SF
Bagley
Giles
The SF can be Bogi -- even though I don't think he can guard SF full time. For the time being, I could see Shump getting minutes there. Unless, the Kings stretch Z-Bo and make a run at Kyle Anderson. So, if they do that:
Fox
LaVine
Anderson
Bagley
Giles
You have real weapons in Bogi & Buddy coming from the bench. Plus guys like WCS & Mason to round things up. Skal is a wild card at this point.
I wouldn't be oppose if this was Vlade's move.
I like Giles upside but right now Willie is the starter. I like a buyout preferably or stretch of Shumpert and signing of Anderson. My rotation would be:
Fox
LaVine
Anderson
Bagley
Cauley-Stein
Hield 6th man
Bogdanovic 7th man
Giles 8th man
Sampson 9th man
Koufos 10th man
Temple 11th man
Mason 12th man
Randolph 13th man
The first 8 set and last 5 depending on match ups.
