So Lavine in his 3rd year with Minnesota was

19ppg/7 3s per game/ 40% from 3 while being one of the most athletic players in the league. That was his age 21-22 year. Had he not got injured then he easily is worth this money. If he gets healthy and reverts back to that...

WCS/Giles
Bagley/Skal
Bogdan/Jackson
Lavine/Hield
Fox/Lavine

Could be an exciting run up and down group that just tries to outscore everyone.

That said I'm praying that Chicago matches!!!

I would have given him 1/$3.5 as a "prove it" contract before committing to a guy who seemingly has no ability to play basketball.

But based on the last several drafts I can see the KIngs have no interest in winning anyway...

Lavine will fit right in with career losers Bagley, Fox, Jackson, Skal, Giles, etc.... Instead of going the "has been" route with Randolph and Vince Carter... they've fully embraced the "never was" angle.

Buddy Hield deserves to be traded to a franchise that cares about winning 35+ games

What are the Kings thinking here though, he's injury prone for 1, 2 you have 2 starting S.G's already, like you need another one. Chicago should aim for an S&T and get Buddy Hield or something (cause Sacramento does not need 3 S.G's).

We don’t think. We just go. There hasn’t been any thought since Vivek came and even more since Vlade made the decisions.

Vlade is so overmatched... even during his career I though he was a smart player but not a smart person... you need someone with some business acumen to run an organization.... vlade strikes me as a guy who when he thinks of NBA he thinks of the women after the game in the velvet lounge... every decision is based around sex appeal instead of basketball

Yeah at first they had him getting 78 mill

20 now

Bad contract and not convinced he stays healthy with the way he plays
On Curry declining

I don't know, this might be a more calculated than previously thought. It sounds like if the Bulls match they are in a tough spot to take on salary with assets attached, which was just reported something the Kings are looking at doing. They might have just eliminated their competition.

They need more SGs. Hield, Bogdanovic, Temple and Shumpert is not enough they need a 5th.

He however checks a lot of boxes in a player you want. Besides the injury.
20 a year kinda makes him untradable. If not for that a good signing.

Lavine is waiver wire material. He literally doesn't check A box, let alone enough boxes to necessitate an entire rack

There's no way that was Vlade's thought process here. He was interested in Lavine since the beginning of the off-season. Vlade did not understand the concept of non-protected pick there's no way he thought of this. The guy is an absolute moron who has done nothing right for us. This bullet he might have just dodged if the Bulls do match.

Lavine didn't play defense when healthy... Come on Kings. You just King'ed yourself. Better hope the Bulls are about that overpaying life...

Exactly. The risk is worth the reward for both teams, and I'm a biased Chicago fan in the camp that hopefully the Bulls match, and quickly.

For a guy who has "no ability to play basketball", I wonder what you look like on the court then.
