I mostly agree but I think Marcus has a bit more value due to age and alleged room to improve.
Which I think washes out with Williams being the better player. Dude carried the clips for a solid 2 months and was even getting buzz about being named an all star.
People have to ease up with comparing players and their salaries. So many factors come in when determining one's contract.
▪ state of the market
▪ one team can value a particular player vastly different from another team (lol LaVine)
▪ cap/tax situation of incumbent team
▪ cap/tax situation of teams wanting to pursue a particular player
▪ ability (or lack thereof) of a team to attract outside free agents (Exum and Favors got overpaid for this reason imo)
▪ agent ineptitude/aptitude
▪ age/upside
▪ actual impact/role on current team vs. perceived impact/role on new team
I could make more things up if need be.
