Is he?
He's more love him one game, hate him the next kind of guy. The fanbase isn't divided and doesn't have too many disagreements about him (unlike Smart/Rondo/KO) as far as I've seen.
I sure had the sense he was. No, not to the same degree as guys like Smart or KO, but thirtyfour's question was who would be the next guy to rise to that level if Smart leaves, not who's already there.
Anyway, Rozier is certainly a serious contender too.
I'll submit Wanamaker as a true darkhorse. I have this sneaking suspicion, based on absolutely nothing, that's he's going to be a little more aggressive about "getting his" than Larkin was.
Celtics fans will mostly attack Al Horford (over paid! soft! claps and smiles! coasts in the regular season at times!) and Smart/Morris/Rozier (on bad shooting nights mostly) or any backup who comes in and sucks. Smart/Rozier will often be targets too since many Celtics fans are split in who they prefer of the two. Can't be a fan of both, PICK A DAMN SIDE.

And when either can't shoot well in a game, the claws come out.
The general forums and other fanbases will more likely attack Kyrie. A lot of Lebron stans out there in hiding and they go insane on anything Irving related. Any negative rumor they can find or any missed shot in the 4th by him and it's Christmas.
Occasionally non Celtics fans go after Horford too. Probably will go after Gordon Hayward too this year, or the Jazz fans will since they can't help but sometimes take a cheap shot.
Then you got the butt hurt Philly fans who will do whatever it takes to prop up Ben Simmons over Jayson Tatum. "Tatum is good, but Simmons is a generational talent damnit and Fultz can still work out!!!!".
