Good stuff on the supermax, with implications for the Hornets & Kemba.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Should we hope that Kemba doesn't make an All-NBA team this season?

"“I don’t get distracted,” Walker said. “It’s the nature of the game, nature of the media. They’re going to ask me. I’ll answer it as best as I can, try to play as best as I can so when my time comes, I’ll have great options. Or hopefully the Hornets will get something done [July 1] before any team can even approach me.”"

“I’ve been hearing it for years,” Walker said Thursday, after working with youngsters at the National Basketball Players Association summer camp. “Every time I come home, ‘When are you going to come home and play for the Knicks?’ I know it’s a special place, I was a Knicks fan growing up, always rooted for the home team. But I just can’t see myself in a Knicks jersey, only because I’ve only been in one jersey.”

Tall about a loyal guy. Id be downright depressed if we didn't resign him or trade him.

Kemba is a class act. He'd be perfect if not for the constant cursing and bching after every non call at the rim.

That does annoy me a bit as well, but I'd say it's justified at least 50% of the time. Kemba gets hammered in the paint constantly with no whistle, if CP3 had to deal with that sort of blind-eye treatment he'd probably murder a referee in front of 18,000 witnesses.

NBA officiating is absolutely shameful, it would frustrate me to no end if I was the one constantly getting bodied to the floor with no call. David Fizdale's infamous "Take that for data!" rant hit the nail on the head in one respect: players who complain more get better results. It's crystal clear there is little to no objective standard for fouls in the NBA, it's a stratified system where Lebron > superstars > stars >vets > rookies and the infractions are almost secondary to the players committing them except in extremely obvious cases.

What really upsets me is seeing Cody Zeller (and before him, Jeremy Lin) get clobbered on the head night in and night out, and the referees act like it's no big deal. Perhaps they have never heard of post-concussion syndrome? Tyler Hansbrough lost most of his rookie season to it. He had to stay in dark rooms for much of the year, as I recall.

Player protection should be just as important as following "the rules."

Kemba is going to have a breakout year next year. Right now perception around the league is he is a good 2nd or 3rd option. After next year people are going to realize he can be the number 1 guy on a championship team.

His best year so far was probably the year before last. That was also the only year he has played without Dwight or Al Jefferson clogging the middle and needing a certain amount of possessions on offense.

With Clifford's outdated scheme out of the way he is going to be unleashed. We are capable of putting in lineups now where everyone is a proven shooter ( Lamb, Batum, Marvin, Frank ) and nobody can stay in front of Kemba without help. If this new guy knows what he is doing at all expect a big jump.

If Kemba was in the rockets system he would be considered a top 10 player in the league. Tony Parker is going to encourage him to get his own shot more and be a good mentor in that respect.

Kemba was on the JJ Redick Podcast today. Basically says he wants to be here, his family is all down here, he's not up in NY ever. Certainly seems like he wants to be a Hornet for life. Don't mess this up, it's a layup Mitch.

I don't ever think we've had a guy like Kemba ever. All-Star, gets better every year, and wants to build a winner here. Recognizes that Charlotte is home and loves it here. Pestered JB to get Jay Hernandez on staff so he could work with him to get better.

Kemba might be my favorite athlete ever. Humble, works hard to get better, and has made himself an All-Star by being coachable and putting in the hours in the gym. He's loyal and I look forward to the day when 15 is in the rafters.

MJ, give that man his signature Jordan deal. I want to buy KW1's.
Who I woulda took:
2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: Porter Jr | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I love Kemba as much as the next guy, and definitely think he'll improve under Borrego, but let's pump the brakes a bit. Kemba is in no way a top 10 player in the league. Chris Paul is borderline right now. Kemba is not a Chris Paul level player.

I'll give you the 15-20 range. There is no reason he/Kyrie Irving/Damian Lillard couldn't switch places and play each other's role though. He is that good, just hasn't had a reliable second option to play off of, nor has he had the opportunities to show out in a system like LeBronball or Stevensball, where there's always a bit less defensive pressure on him. We can only hope to have our own version of the 2014-15 Hawks, where a talented but underachieving team is unlocked and unleashed by a first-time head coach plucked off the Popovich tree. Only then is Kemba going to get the credit that he deserves.

I rarely complain about refs, but the **** they let go against Zeller and Lin (at least for his one season here) is pretty egregious to the point that its kind of weird.

I keep seeing so many post on social media, saying how good Kemba is and he should leave because he’s unappreciated and underrated here.

I’m upset but it’s true though. Still hope he stays and we can get out of mediocrity.
