Yup, his salary wouldn't even be in the top 100.
Plus we have two more seasons of potential improvement to see what his value really is at that point. We also will be capped out then with no prospect of salary cap space for the foreseeable future so the impact of a high salary is much lower.
The biggest thing that we don’t want is to have to pay anyone before we have our last max window, which is next summer. After next summer the contracts given to role players are of much lesser importance. Not saying that it won’t matter, but it would be lessened significantly.

Dario and Ben were forced to defend perimeter players. 2 strong PFs that probably never seen such schemes and athletic players, before. The potential for improvement from the experience should be very helpful for quicker rotations and better positioning.
Dario's new contract could be difficult to negotiate, if he continues to improve his shooting (40% from 3) and better defense.
His fit with Simmons and Embiid has been good. His athleticism will always be a concern, but incorporating tricks, like the Illy flop helps lessen the lack of rim protection.
