The downside is that the Bears are just good enough to be a treadmill team. At least those first rounders they gave up won't be worth as much if that's the case.
Unless Trubitsky and Allen Robinson rack up yards and TDs, the Bears were more than one all-pro player away from contending.
Trubitsky has a lot of weapons at his disposal this season...Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Jordan Howard, and Tarik Cohen. Nagy made Alex Smith looked like a superstar last season with similar talent. I don't think anyone thinks the Bears are a contender this season, but they're certainly not far off. I'm curious to see how Trubitsky performs with more freedom at the line of scrimmage and a healthy group of receivers. Could be a really telling season for the type of player he projects to be.
