Maybe 6 or 7 wins at most?

If Mack can get them to 9 wins, maybe they're in the playoffs picture?

The downside is that the Bears are just good enough to be a treadmill team. At least those first rounders they gave up won't be worth as much if that's the case.

Unless Trubitsky and Allen Robinson rack up yards and TDs, the Bears were more than one all-pro player away from contending.

Trubitsky has a lot of weapons at his disposal this season...Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Jordan Howard, and Tarik Cohen. Nagy made Alex Smith looked like a superstar last season with similar talent. I don't think anyone thinks the Bears are a contender this season, but they're certainly not far off. I'm curious to see how Trubitsky performs with more freedom at the line of scrimmage and a healthy group of receivers. Could be a really telling season for the type of player he projects to be.

I’m glad to see that Marcus Peters and Khalil Mack are both out of the AFC West.

Only if Von Miller could go elsewhere as well...

The biggest problem for them is their division. NFC North is crazy stacked and the Packers and Vikings are better than the Bears IMO with Detroit not too far behind.

I agree here. What’s being overlooked is that Khalil was still a game changer in Oak without much help. He was also an all-pro at2 diff positions. On a team with more help who can take adv of the attention he draws will have a bigger impact. Also he will be playing under Vic Fangio who will be able to use him in diff ways to free Khalil up. This should help provide short fields for the offense. This is where the QB comes in. Bears acquired weapons for Trubisky aka Money Mitch. He needs to take the next step to have the biggest impact. After all they traded up for him. Its go time.

Jon Gruden better hit on those two draft picks because he's looking like an imbecile right about now.

When it mattered most Mack was completely invisible. This is why you never pay a defensive player 25 million. No single player can possibly stop a good QB.
Gruden made the right long term call.

Imbecile may be an understatement.

The Raider front office will and should get unprecedented heat and criticism for the absolute worst transaction of all time. :banghead:

I disagree. Mack came off the street, out of shape and dominated the 1st half. Predictably, he was winded the second half. That wont happen again.

Mack was exhausted. Bears should have kept him out more.
