Tatum was apparently 1/5 against Frank as the primary defender. I like Frank’s versatility it allows him to guard the best player on each team regardless of position. You may call it horrible coaching and I’m sure Frank thinks otherwise. I’m sure they’re plenty of times that Frank doesn’t want to handle the ball and he makes it apparent by letting Baker take his reps as back up point guard. It’s not the coach’s job to force a player to do something he doesn’t want to do. Knicks offense wasn’t the issue either. Burke was pretty good actually.
Frank said he wanted to be more of a leader out there. No one is stopping him from doing that. Especially when the chuckers you blame are off the floor. Remember last year it was “Jack this and Jarret Jack that” now it’s Burke, who’s going to be next season or the season after that? Let Frank be who he wants to be.
did he not look the most comfortable running the P&R in those nets clips? He sure looked pretty confident and sure of himself. I think franks a very astute player and sometimes for his own good. I think he would thrive with more structure which was point out before. Its the same reason he doesn't show out in the summer league. Too much free lancing. When he is tasked as running the offense and is give then duty he looks his best and that is my point on the whole subject.
Can’t compare the defensive pressure of the Nets to the Celtics. It’s night and day. He struggled against the Celtics because they are one of the best teams in the league. He will be fine.
thats fine, of course he will struggle on nights he is far from a perfect player. I am talking the overall picture. His usage #'s suck and that doesn't have anything to do with how good the C's defense is.
