He's only a semi-useful player when going all out with the energy. And that type of play is only sustainable in five minute bursts.

That said maybe we can use one five-minute burst of it each half. Have to see what Bud thinks of it going forward.

I thought it was a great adjustment to bring Thon in and switch up the defensive scheme. It rattled the Grizzlies, but then they called timeout and adjusted. Thon proceeds to fall asleep and let Gasol shoot a 3, then spazs on a pump fake giving up a layup. Curveballs are good, but you can't keep throwing them.

We need to remember this loss throughout the rest of the season! Conley & Gasol, especially Conley, make some really tough and key shots down the stretch. We need to learn how to play and wins games against teams like Memphis with a slow, methodical pace. After watching film, Bud will work with them on this.

You hate to lose at home to an opponent you're expected to handle easily, but what the hell. A season that was all seashells and balloons, with no unexpected losses or games lost due to bad officiating and in which we cruised to playoff glory stress-free, would feel too much like a Twilight Zone episode with a twist ending in which the devil jabs you in the ass with his pitchfork and says "you thought this was heaven?'" while laughing diabolically.

Ersan is fast becoming the new Snell. Getting a lot of minutes and not doing much.

He's slow footed and when he's not hitting shots it's hard to play him. We knew this heading in. It's why his contract is and will always be bad.

Surprisingly today, he did not play smart at all. That is not something I expected from him.

On another topic, JJJ is my pick for best player from this draft. Doncic will get his ROTY but in 5 years JJJ will be a top-10 player.

He was my number one guy heading into the draft above both Ayton and Luka. His ability to score from all three levels and defend is on another level from the guys in his class.

after this game if we had won, would anybody be discussing about Giannis? maybe whether he was the man of the match or not. The talk today is because we lost and we have to find a scapegoat. Giannis today was good at least compared to the rest of the team.

That he is a bad shooter we all now. Should it be our second phrase in every subject?

Giannis is the talk today because TD75 made a post calling out people who are critical of Giannis' shooting. NOBODY pinned this loss on Giannis before that post, and people still aren't doing that. Bizarro responded to it with a totally reasonable post, and predictably got ripped for it.

Apparently I am "calling out people" with the posts below.

Sucks because the PNR is easy to defend. Instead Ersan and Lopez kept dropping down into the paint.

So many chokes down the stretch. OG missing both free throws, Kawhi missing one, Kawhi dribbling off his foot. But there was just that feeling Casey was gunna pull it off, so many bad things had to happen you just knew it wasn’t gonna end up good for us.
