He's only a semi-useful player when going all out with the energy. And that type of play is only sustainable in five minute bursts.
That said maybe we can use one five-minute burst of it each half. Have to see what Bud thinks of it going forward.
I thought it was a great adjustment to bring Thon in and switch up the defensive scheme. It rattled the Grizzlies, but then they called timeout and adjusted. Thon proceeds to fall asleep and let Gasol shoot a 3, then spazs on a pump fake giving up a layup. Curveballs are good, but you can't keep throwing them.

Re: PG Memphis - Bucks Bent Over By Refs
We need to remember this loss throughout the rest of the season! Conley & Gasol, especially Conley, make some really tough and key shots down the stretch. We need to learn how to play and wins games against teams like Memphis with a slow, methodical pace. After watching film, Bud will work with them on this.

You hate to lose at home to an opponent you're expected to handle easily, but what the hell. A season that was all seashells and balloons, with no unexpected losses or games lost due to bad officiating and in which we cruised to playoff glory stress-free, would feel too much like a Twilight Zone episode with a twist ending in which the devil jabs you in the ass with his pitchfork and says "you thought this was heaven?'" while laughing diabolically.

In the 9 minutes Thon was in he was +17 and Gasol only shot 1-4 on FGs.
Gasol killed us this game however. We had no answer to the Conley+Gasol pick-n-pop before Thon's minutes.

Lets not act like he is an all starTD75 wrote:blazza18 wrote:msiris wrote:Ersan is fast becoming the new Snell. Getting a lot of minutes and not doing much.
He's slow footed and when he's not hitting shots it's hard to play him. We knew this heading in. It's why his contract is and will always be bad.
Surprisingly today, he did not play smart at all. That is not something I expected from him.

He was my number one guy heading into the draft above both Ayton and Luka. His ability to score from all three levels and defend is on another level from the guys in his class.

after this game if we had won, would anybody be discussing about Giannis? maybe whether he was the man of the match or not. The talk today is because we lost and we have to find a scapegoat. Giannis today was good at least compared to the rest of the team.
That he is a bad shooter we all now. Should it be our second phrase in every subject?
Giannis is the talk today because TD75 made a post calling out people who are critical of Giannis' shooting. NOBODY pinned this loss on Giannis before that post, and people still aren't doing that. Bizarro responded to it with a totally reasonable post, and predictably got ripped for it.
Apparently I am "calling out people" with the posts below.
Post that started this:TD75 wrote:Giannis' jumpshot will be referenced in eternity in every loss, no matter if it was a factor or not.
The discussion that followed.TD75 wrote:bizarro wrote:
Did I say a single word, a single phrase, even remotely reference Giannis' lack of a jumper cost the Bucks the game?
Hint: NO
Great, then we agree.
Just a tip: Posting complete and utter non sequiturs tends to piss people off. i.e., accusing people of saying things that they didn't say.

Sucks because the PNR is easy to defend. Instead Ersan and Lopez kept dropping down into the paint.BucksFanSD wrote:Brewhoopfan wrote:paulpressey25 wrote:

I stopped at pg. 10.
At his rate, I think they are going to trade us Kawhi for Dely.
He was bad down the stretch, calling a spade a spade doesn't mean the pitchforks are out, it was one game.

People post from different parts of the world so things tend to get lost in translation. No need to get pissed off. In general most people try to explain themselves very well.buckboy wrote:TD75 wrote:Prez wrote:Giannis is the talk today because TD75 made a post calling out people who are critical of Giannis' shooting. No doubt. I'm not pissed off. I think the whole thing is hilarious.
Putting words in people's mouths is a terrible idea in general. That's all I was trying to convey.

Let me start another fire around here:
Wasn't thrilled with Giannis's defense against JJJ on his few drives to the hoop.

Giannis pretty much plays Free Safety and roams around. These are bound to happen when he gets caught off guard.
