At some point its gotta be on coaching? We just make so many dumb mistakes all the time. Even really bad teams luck into a win on a back to back.

We let Harris and Barea score 36 combined points. Yuck.

no young team with bottom 10 talent has ever been good on the road... let alone on the road in back to backs.

our coaching is top 10... closing in on elite. we are 8-11 with 4-15 talent despite an insanely hard schedule to start the year

The Nets are 5-7 on the road, which in itself is worthy of praise.

It could be a lot worse. Especially when the team's lead guard is on the shelf. Got to give Kenny and the team credit

We didn’t win a road game until early December last year. This is overall our best start since 2014.

I don't mind the loss at all. Was expecting a blowout actually but we hung around. I do think we need to change somethings on B2B. 32 straight losses is CRAZY.

I really wouldn't mind sitting Carroll, Dudley, Davis on the 2nd games and playing Musa, Rodi, and Faried. Just to see how it goes. We're probably more likely to lose but at least we'll get a look at more guys. Faried and Musa haven't gotten a chance in actual games.

I did say I expect inconsistent performances because the rosters' skill level in the second sentence, so... (other various factors like b2b and 3-games-4-nights matter too).

This was one of the more winnable games for them though imo, but anything can happen in a course of a game.

I called this. I said it after the Pistons game. We're a playoff team, we're deep in depth. But it's going to be like this, win a thriller, lose a thriller, beat great teams, lose a back to back. We're going to be around 6-8 if we stay healthy and consistent.
We're deep, and for once I wish Kenny goes back to last year and rest the vets on b2b. At least see if they have their legs and if they don't, quick pull.

Kurucs could have given us some energy out there over Dudley/ Carroll. Honestly I wouldn't be opposed to Faried/Davis especially when we aren't shooting well on b2b.

Who cares about floor spacing if we're bricking jumper after jumper?

Let Faried/Davis crash the crap out of the boards.

Floor spacing matters even if players are missing jumpers, especially with this team. This team, without LeVert, struggles mightily driving by opposing players and getting separation. The only guy that currently can do it right now is Dinwiddie, but even he seems to be in a little funk at the moment. Having floor spacing clears up the driving lanes, cutting lanes, and gives them more room to operate, regardless if the shooters are making shots or not. The opposing team has to respect the the ability of people like Crabbe/Dudley/Carroll, who have been inconsistent all season, but have shown the ability in their careers to make those shots.

Look at the Rockets earlier in the year. When MCW played the short period he did, teams didn't care to guard him because he can't do anything offensively. The guy defending MCW would just abandon him and double the ball handler or make it harder to drive. Even this year with the Nets, when RHJ is on the court as a PF and Allen or Davis is the center, multiple teams aren't guarding RHJ and let him sit on the perimeter because they know he's not a threat to shoot and it makes it harder for the Nets.

There's some moments were the Nets would be justified in playing bigger lineups, but to abandon floor spacing when shots aren't falling is foolish.

You're not abandoning floor spacing completely. You're talking about replacing one guy...one who isnt making shots anyway and defenses are startijg to sag againsy anyway.

You can still attack with 2 wing shooters, 1 big setting a pnr (and a possible roll guy) and another big to clean up or finish once the penetrating guard gets to the paint

He is +13 on the floor. He was not perfect tonight. No one was tbh, but this game doesn't become an actual contest without him.

his offense is a complete **** show though. I don't know what to tell you. I dunno whats wrong with him :nonono:
His defense wasn't good either tho, Barnes was doing whatever he wanted. That wide open Barnes 3 at the end where RHJ got completely lost after getting screened off, it was horrific.

Were we watching the same game though? The Nets came out of the 2nd half and cut the lead down and a lot of that was because of RHJ forcing Barnes into tough shots. You can't just cherry pick one defensive play where Barnes got him and lay that out as evidence. Lets at least be honest here. This game was looking bleak for the Nets until Kenny benched Dudley for RHJ and put him on Barnes.
In the third quarter and early 4th quarter, we were getting destroyed by the combo of Barea & Devin Harris, Barnes didn't need to get involved. When Barnes came back in the 4th quarter, he started scoring again with RHJ on him. Barnes played like an all star last night, which is something he's absolutely not. We were able to cut the lead down because Ed Davis was huge for us offensively last night and kept us in it with 2nd chance points & strong finishing. Without Davis, we would have been blown out.

Nah dude, you are cherry picking hard here. Barnes was definitely involved in the 3rd. It's just that he was held to 1-4 shooting in the that Qtr. Dallas wasn't kicking our asses in that qtr we out scored them 31-24 and got back into the game after an abysmal first half.

I will gladly admit that he got the best of RHJ in the 4th (Barnes went 3/5). It's not like Barnes is some kind of scrub. But to pretend that RHJ starting in the 2nd half had nothing to do with our comeback in the 3rd is pretty dishonest. And yes, Ed Davis was awesome last night. But we expect that because Ed Davis is always coming through.

Raptors -8 vs. Hawks: Win.

Lakers vs. Cavs Straight up bet: Win

Blazers vs. Bucks Straight up bet: Win

Knicks vs. Celtics Over/Under: Win taking the over at 216 final score was Knicks 117-Bos 109

Kings +9.5 vs. Jazz: Win. Why Vegas set that line so high versus a Kings team who has been beating ASS out there in the West, I dunno but that was the first game I took.

Between the Rams/Chiefs game and tonight, i might go in hard on the thanksgiving games tomorrow in the NFL. Does anyone have any picks? :D

Saints. Bears and as much as it sickens me upset special Dallas Cowboys.

I did a parlay on all 3 games. Took The Bears and Cowboys straight up and then took the -13 on the Saints.

Now I'm wondering if I need to cash out and fall back or keep riding the wave and go in on tomorrow's NBA games. Minnesota is -2 versus the Nets in Barclays and i think we can beat those jokers.
