I think the most surprising thing about Pascal is his huge improvement in ball handling and his playmaking/vision.

Talking in absolutes about young prospects never ages well. This isn't nearly as bad as the 2007/2008 thread that had a serious discussion going about Durant being a taller Jamal Crawford because he wasn't shooting super efficiently and his defense sucked at the age of 19.

I just hope people learn from this thread and become able to chill for half a second.

But, you know, nah, probably not. :-?

Novocaine wrote:I love this pick for you guys. Top-10 talent in this draft, IMO. Great motor, great athlete, untapped potential offensively. He was uber dominant even if played against low level comp. But he'd raise his game against the best teams in the schedule, fwiw.

Can defend 3 or 4 positions in the NBA, I think. He's like Mbah-a-Moute before the injuries but with a softer touch, better hands, and more explosive.

I think he has Ibaka potential.

he should just start posting up and develop a hook shot so he can score consistently. Whenever there's a mismatch he should just post up the smaller guard

I'll bet most people don't notice, but it looks to me like he has almost Kawhi-like hands and a long wingspan to go with his motor and speed that help make him be one of the toughest guys to guard in the league.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

Anticon wrote:I'd never heard of this guy, but watching clips it seems like a Powell situation (who many had never heard of either). Seems very much like a Biyombo replacement.

If Masai thought Skal and Davis weren't worth a pick, I don't have any issue with that. This guy looks promising.

So I compared him to Biyombo (lol) but not bad overall.

I felt the same thing watching him as I did Norm on draft night - guys I’d never heard of but that looked like grinders with some talent.

Don’t think anyone would have thought he’d be this by year 3 though. That’s on him plus the great development opportunities the Raptors gave him ( starter plus 905 in the same year).

Did I miss a 3rd player we drafted?

This guy has 9 posts, and joined RealGM 3 weeks before the draft. This is definitely BC, right?

Um no.

I can name way more times when fans got it wrong, and the team was right than the opposite.

- How about when Raptor fans booed Stoudamire cuz they wanted Ed O'Bannon?
- How about when Knicks fans booed Porzingis?

I could go on and on and on....

That's incorrect statement - All you have to do is read the draft threads. Fans are correct way more than you think.

Masai or any GM for that matter have been wrong lots.
"Fans"? Which "fans"? There are 1000s of us my guess is we are wrong way more often than we are right.

I think Bruno soured us on Masai at the time. Never again. Best GM in the business.

Darkseid wrote:How much is Siakim getting paid next contract?

I feel like 20 mil per season isn't unreasonable if he improves a little more.

If he gets any better 20 million is a lock if it isnt already. With his versatility on both ends of the floor and starting on the leagues number 1 seed early on, he may already be a lock for 20 million.
Probably all the more reason for Masai to trade for another all star sooner rather than later. He cant pay everyone. Might as well get value for some of the non starters.

Claps. Bravo to you for getting this one bang on (maybe not quite Ibaka). I don’t even know who the Davis most people were complaining about us not taking.

This is the pick which made me think “hmmm... maybe guys who get paid a ton of money to professionally scout and evaluate talent are better at it than me with my 8 hours of YouTube/Wikipedia reasearch.”
