It's pretty sad but this is on Philly.
We did our due diligence on him and asked for him to come back for a 2nd workout/checkout to confirm what we first thought in the first workout. We knew about the issue then and immediately pivoted to Tatum.
You’re saying we recognized he had a nervous system disorder and passed on him, but he didn’t figure it out until he saw ten doctors?
No. He’s saying we saw something that Philly ignored. If I had to guess, it was related to the piss poor shooting and inconsistent mechanics he displayed in his workouts, which both Philly and Boston observed.
If I could wrecklessly speculate, we linked that with something we observed in the medical tests we conducted. Given the sensitivity/personal nature of the situation, I hope reload doesnt tell us to be honest. Its pretty clear something is wrong and that Ainge and team observed something that caused us to pivot— the exact details are irrelevant.
He did shoot poorly in the workouts for Boston. I don't think that's why Danny soured on him though. If I had to guess, it was probably his mental toughness, or lack thereof, which Danny look at Tatum. Ainge puts a lot of stock into a player's competitiveness. During a draft workout, Delonte ran a drill, threw up, and then insisted on running the drill again. He beat his own score and set a team record for that drill.
Similar story with Rozier apparently, but with a shooting drill. Rozier did it, and although the drill was exhausting, insisted on doing it again.
If I had to guess, Fultz probably did all the drills just once, regardless of how poorly he did. The kid looks mentally fragile.
