Can you double team someone who is wide open?

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

do you think he's a 32% three point shooter moving forward?
Do you believe that every shot a guy takes is just as likely to go in as his career averages say?
sure, all else being equal. we can't account for things like unreported injuries, rest the previous night, personal turmoil, etc. abrines has attempted hundreds and hundreds of threes in his career and is a 37-38% shooter. i think it's reasonable to expect that absent any compelling reason not to.

Hes the exact kind of player i could see presti moving schroder for.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. That would be awful. Minnesota would clearly have to add here, in my opinion. I just can’t see this happening. If you want a player similar Wiggins on the wing, why not take a shot at getting the higher upside Oubre.

I was being sarcastic. That being said, I might take Wiggins if they added Okogie.

So there's no reason to be concerned about Russ's shooting, it's simple variance.

Not sure what you mean. Towns was standing 25 feets from the basket, with, what it seems, no intention to shoot, with Adams standing in front of him. There was absolutely no need to all of a sudden trap him and leave your man wide open (and specially a guy like Covington who can knock down a shot like that). It was just a stupid decision.

uh, ok. russ has had preseason surgery and injuries, and his shooting is now a two year trend. his 3pt% dropped 5% year to year since his mvp season and ft% 10%.

Yeah, I don’t see Presti sacrificing future flexibility for Wiggins + Okogie or something. I could be wrong, but I just can’t see it.

Again, i was being facetious because it seems to be Presti's philosophy to have one trash scorer with a bad contract on the team.

Every top tier team has a less-than-ideal contract to some degree it seems.

Presti seeks them out.

these guys will make every excuse in the universe for russell westbrook. even if you grant the help defense as necessary (i agree with you that it probably was not, at least not that aggressive), russ getting faked out of his shoes by covington was a blatant failure.

Actually if you remember Correctly they won the game when I suggested to rest the big 3.Do yall just talk to talk or actually look at facts? Also blaming a lose on anything said on this board if the dumbest s*** I have ever heard.Dadouv47 wrote:getrichordie wrote:I think I’d rest Adams in this game and let Noel/Grant handle the 5 spot. Or at the very least, play Adams with limited minutes.
Given Minnesota’s stable of bigs, I think we could handle it.

That's when I knew we were going to lose this.
Last time it was ''let rest our big 3'' and we ended up losing as well.
Those guys will never learn
Yeah the game should have been over when Grant was mugged flagrant 1 at the least.spearsy23 wrote:Nobody should be too upset with this one. We played well, they played well, it took some lucky bounces and some iffy calls and we just came up a little short.

This isn't mythbusters, you don't get to reject reality. Fact is you want to blame everything in Westbrook, most likely for reaction, and you'll double down even when you're demonstrably wrong. Pretending you're the one being objective is silly.
