On this board? Yeah.

As I said before. Either we want efficient players or we don’t.

Replace Melo with Timmy. Same rules apply. One of Timmy biggest knocks is his utter lack of efficiency.

People literally call dude a female. Knox is literally shooting worse from the field. Rookie or not efficiency should be a concern.

There is big difference. Knox is a rookie, in time the hope is he will get better. No one likes Timmy's shot selection, but we know he's being tasked in this.

That's the end, leave it alone.

Kanter is a back to the basket big that slows the game down and has tunnel vision...who also can’t guard a chair.

Melo was also a player who slowed down the game and had tunnel vision..who also couldn't guard a chair.

It's not true that "either we want efficient players or we don't." We're trying to build a team. Each player will be evaluated according to his contribution to our overall team play both on offense and defense.

It's not true that every inefficient shot is a Melo shot. As much as we generally disdain Timmy's chucking, we don't groan in the same agonizing way as we did when we knew, every time Melo touched the ball, that that poor ball had just died and would have no chance to live again until the next play.

Lastly, most if not nearly all of the best players in the league were fairly inefficient as rookies. We are all here looking for development.

I'm at a total loss to explain why anybody who wants to contribute to the general discourse on this board would make such statements about how we feel. Clearly, they couldn't really think they are speaking for us. So why would they write this?

If you want to discuss anything Melo related, there is several places that can be discussed. This thread aint one of them. I am asking all to refrain. Final warning.

I would take SGA over Knox.

So....anyone want to actually talk about the game? The Knicks actually played one today.

You know we don't talk about games here

But in all seriousness, I'm really glad that Knox was able to get his 30 point game out of the way, sh*t frustrated me so much with KP his rookie year. I'm not a fan of him getting so many minutes, especially when Mario wasn't playing too badly, but he got 30 so it all works out imo

I think it shows the potential we have when KP gets back of a 1-2 punch of them two, I'm still not quite sold on either of them being true #1 guys, but KP's definitely shown the potential before, and I think we saw a glimpse of Knox's potential today. One of the biggest knocks on him was going up weak and settling for floaters, but he was taking it to the rim strong today. He adds some weight, gets his strength down, and we got ourselves a gem

Also, his defense has been improving to my eye test recently. He's still not good, but at least he looks like he has played basketball before on that end now, so that's a plus too

Progression as a rookie is certainly good and it is evident. Knox scoring ability was well known so to see it developing is welcome but of course not a surprise. Certainly want him to care on defense. He had moments of yay and nay there.

Just roll the ball out and let the kids cook. THJ Kanter Burke just hold the youngsters back

And the guy we got because we didn't tank hard enough - Knox- he's pretty good too.

Is your point that you think what Knox has done should make me think it’s good we didn’t land Doncic?

Knicks never take who I want and I still support the kids. Frank wasn’t my guy (DSJ) but I’m one of the few left on Ntilikina island. Hell im still here caping for WHG.

It wasn’t just Knox’s play. The whole team played a better style of ball. It was liberating for Knox. It also helped Kornet. And I loved seeing how frustrated it made Enbiid to be dragged out to the three point arc on defense.

I like how the offense (and defense) rolled when Frank was out there. It seemed like the Sixers would build up a nice sized lead while Mudiay was on the court and then the Knicks would cut it down after Frank came in.

you don't redo a draft after 2 and a half months. you gotta wait years to be sure. michael carter willams won rookie of the year over oladipo. tyreke evans won it over harden and steph. see what i mean. it's silly.

It looked to me like he was there for their big runs.

But he doesn’t shoot as much as Timmy. Oh no!

There was a few positives of todays game, Knox was the main event so to speak. Embiid really didn't respect Kornet out there and was forced to primarily because he had to guard him, and like you said, he had to go way out to do it. He also couldn't really manhandle him in the paint either. Kornet held his own today overall. I know I've been harsh on him for his defense, but I thought he did a lot of good today down there against Embiid.

Seems nobody could get a handle on Simmons though. no way dude should have had that many rebounds at least.
