Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

EG sucks the joy and hope right out of this team and the owner is too stupid to understand why.
Yup. We both did and sometimes they DO follow through.Ruzious wrote:80sballboy wrote:?s=21
Ouch, I remember suggesting that very trade - saying I'd rather have Ingram, but it's more realistic that the Lakers would want to include Hart rather than Ingram.
It is still very viable regardless of injuriesgambitx777 wrote:80sballboy wrote:?s=21

EG is terrible... but why are we buying this?
A KCP/Wall trade could Not occur until the 15th of January, but Wall was hurt in December. I can see the offer, but for us to act like there was any way that this was getting done is a little uninformed.

This offer had been out there since the beginning of the season, the issue was KCP couldn’t be traded until Dec 15.
The most reputable source we old-timers all have here (and former wiz analytics guy) dropped the hint back in November of the perfect trade for Wall being offered by the Lakers. He also said the Wizards would decline, because of EG being inept.

Yep. WizardsKev already spilled the beans on that one a long time ago.

Of all the Wall trades, that one was almost universally liked here. If true thats another Grunder Blunder to add to the list.

Before Morris Almond and his consecutive 10-day stints; back in the day Jahidi White and IIRC Brevin Knight happened. I think I was on AOL back then.
Also, Robert Pack and I THINK Don MacLean happened weeks after a trade idea was floated.
Never know who is listening or lurking.
Smart as doclinkin is hell he could be...

HAH! don't blame me for this mess.![]()
Hell I might've drafted Mo Almond. And it would've been the wrong move. It was between him, Rudy Fernandez even though he had contract issues I think, and Marco Bellinelli. I wanted Rodney Stuckey but he was picked one slot before we took Nick Young (who I didn't want. I liked his teammate Taj Gibson, but he wasn't in that draft).

Well, technically, he didn't specifically say it. But he left us enough bread crumbs to draw the conclusion that the team was LA and that KCP's contract was involved. And it seemed logical that Ball was also involved since having them together would be redundant. The Hart part is interesting.
What a great deal for the Wizards! But as pcbothwel points out, the deal couldn't have taken place until after Wall got hurt. I suppose EG may have stupidly rejected the offer in late November when it was originally extended as a hypothetical to take place on Dec. 15th, but ultimately, even if EG accepted the offer back in late November, the offer would likely have been rescinded by Dec. 15th anyway.
Now that Lonzo Ball is hurt, I wonder if the Lakers would consider going through with it? I'd even do it without Hart.
There's also the possibility that this is pure fiction floated in an attempt to raise Wall's trade value. Is EG that savvy?

Oh Kev spilled the beans. He also verified the trade with me a few weeks earlier as I was the one that shot him what I thought was a ridiculous rumor at the time.
The guy who pushed the original rumor out there knows someone in LA too. He called LeBron's injury as being far more serious than the media was letting on the same night LeBron got injured. LeBron was day to day and now has been out for a month.

Gasol for Ian+Morris+2019 1st (some level of protection) would have been an interesting offer but that is likely too rich with the way Gasol has played lately due to small injuries popping up and him never being willing to rest a proper amount of time. Then again you guys may have no real interest in Gasol anyway with his age.
