Laker fans realizing that if they had drafted Tatum instead of Ball, they would have AD by now.

Brilliant. I can't believe I hadn't put that together yet - nor seen it in the last close to 300 pages. Well done, sir.

And unless there's a player Danny really likes, why does he do that? For davis?

The 2020 draft is supposed to be better than this one, and 2021 better than that. He does it if that’s what New Orleans wants.

Was rumored that the Pelicans prefer picks after 2019, IIRC.

Interesting.. so we should want the Clippers to *miss* the playoffs this year...

Davis averages 68 games played a season, and 34 mpg.

One of the selling points for Danny to make to AD is that coming to Boston will actually be very good for his career long term. The depth we have here means that they can cut down on his minutes in the regular season. If he goes to what will remain of the Lakers (mostly a g-league team) he’ll be forced to play 36+ min every night since they’ll have very few options aside from him and whats left of LeBron’s body. Coming to Boston is a far better long term move for him on a number of levels.

If we trade for AD this off season, depth would be a problem for us. Tatum, Brown, Rozier/smart would probably be included. Morris is an expiring, and we can’t afford to pay him his worth. Same thing with Baynes. If we get AD, we would be left to get scrub vets to fill out the roster.

I don’t think its a lock that he leaves. What is the difference between what we could pay him and what anyone else could? Its the same reason why I’m not scared at all of Kyrie leaving. They’ll both have 40-60,000,000 reasons to stay

Sry guys but he has no interest in being in Boston. Dad made a statement and not on agent's list of preferred destinations (this is as close it gets to him coming to the media and directly saying F*** boston).

I'm not giving up the talented core we have for a one year rental on a player who really has no desire to be here longtime. I just I'm in the minority that enjoys watching this core and wants to see them grow together and become the next dynasty (after GSW) rather than giving up all young talent for a supposed top 5 player (didn't even have team in 8 spot prior to his #30 injury in his career).

Even with all those errors they still might have... If they had kept Russell instead of trading him to get rid of Mozgov's contract.

Yeah, and KG didn't want to come here..and Paul George was 100% signing with the Lakers.

Or - if Tatum had been drafted by LA and Lonzo by Boston, Tatum would be considered Ingram-level playing on a bad young team and a flawed winning team, and Lonzo's rookie year would have been like Jaylen's for us - off-ball wing, hitting corner 3's, good defense, sharp passes while he learned the game and developed good habits. Winning and being given the right role go a long way to help young guys get better and look good.

I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just forgot the green font. And this gullibility has been present in every single one of these threads and even on NBA radio today. Tim Legler was going on and on about what he read about the trade and not one person there could bring up the fact that all of this “news” was coming directly from LeBron’s team. Its amazing that people still just blindly believe anything Woj and his cohorts tweet out

Another tip of the hat to you, sir! I will admit to some serious skimming, esp in part 2 & 3's "he's worth it" / "no he's not" land.

Tatum is a stud. Player development matters, too.

Ingram is the reason WHY they didn’t draft Tatum and Ainge knew that all along. They thought they already had a better version of Tatum so they drafted the PG they needed.
