Grant as the Basketball ops guy- he seems like he could really motivate a team well and Nash as GM managing who to bring in to fill out a roster and manage personalities on a team. Bring in KG to lead player development with Ayton/ Booker/ Bridges. The best coach for that scenario might be SVG (good history getting great production from bigs), Thibs (defense) or M. Jackson (leadership). We need experience and toughness with a defensive mindset wrapped in a package the players will respect. The only trick is to make all of that happen might cost $30+ million/ year.

Ironically we are actually built pretty well for the triangle offense right now. That said we need an offense that starts inside-out rather than outside-in. Igor is trying with the first quarter activity, and it's paying some dividends in keeping Ayton involved, but we are far from being complete there. Always go through the area where your team is most dominant first. Ayton is that- even with his flaws.

I'm good with your ideas for the front office. But no offense but I don't think I could list 3 guys I would be less interested in as coach (well Jason Kidd comes to mind but these guys are in my top 5). SVG was a good coach but he's been out of the game so damn long I just don't really see that working out. Thibs, just no, he has never liked to coach young players his system is outdated and he runs guys into the ground. And personally I think Mark Jackson is a bad coach and I would tend to think the league agrees with me since he hasn't got a job since GS.

If they do move on from Igor Walton is my favorite realistic target. I really like that he has experience working with a young team and he had them playing good D last year.

I wouldn't mind Walton, but not sure he'd come. I just hope they stop with the nonsense of changing every damn year. And yeah, those other names mentioned...man, that would really be awful. I'd look at Bret Brielmaeir though.

With Walton I guess it would depend on his options. With so many coaching changes last summer I actually think this will be a relatively quite summer for coach firings. The Lakers job probably opens up. I guess Minnesota might be looking but I could see them just stay with Flips son. Portland is a possibility but that puts another good coach on the markets in Stotts who I'd be fine with.

Personally unless behind the scenes they feel like Igor has just lost this team I would give him another year.

Yes, if you look at all responses you should see a couple from me, though after including Gambo on one I may have taken him off and just responded to some of the responders once or twice.

I was the one pushing COllison - thanks to you :)

I'm not extremely high on him but he's smart and a good shooter and takes care of the ball (good ast/to ratio) and decent defender. He'd just be a solid vet that helps us in our areas of weakness (not so much on defense but on offense). Definitely better than Rozier.

Gambo is so annoying...he's the typical guy who would know nothing about Rozier until he starts seeing the twitter highlights when he has a really good playoff game and then he watches sportscenter and sees the highlights for like 3 games and then that's all he ever needs to see....never looks into anything else regarding him. I think a long while back I said something bad about Rozier back to him in one of his twitter campaigns for him and he said I know nothing about basketball lol.

I think for lack of a better word -he is almost ADD or up and down like a yo-yo.

One day he will make a decision to save cash. But than a week later - will make a worse long term move

1) Not signing Amare to the 5/100 with his knees. Smart. Than he signed a bunch of players to long term deals killing all long term cap. BAd

2) Trading Brian Grant and the 17th pick to the Celtics for 3m cash - saving 2m on Grant plus the 3m. (Celtics picked Rondo). Than trading the 18th pick to the Blazers for 3m and they drafted Sergio Rodriguez. So SArver got 8m bucks - yeah!! Than he signed Marcus Banks 21/5, I get Mike D didn't like rookies but again, longer term, drafting a PG like even Sergio would have saved him money

If Sarver just gave the GM a budget, had his foam finger and stayed away - his team probably would win more

He's trying to be Cuban. Even Cuban makes mistakes (Wes Mathews max money, near max money for Barnes) but for the most part, he has a REALLY solid front office that makes good decisions. To pull off the Luka trade and the KP trade in one year without having gone through the "asset accumulation" period that we've gone through is pretty damn impressive.

I was just reading an article the other day that the Dallas GM wanted to draft Giannis and Cuban over ruled him. As I was saying earlier I actually don't have an issue with an owner being involved with big decisions that's pretty normal. Now they should hire guys the trust and take their advice but it ultimately is their team and the GM works for them. What I have a major problem with is the reports of him being way way way to hands on with day to day stuff. That's just not how you would run a team.

I know people have thought otherwise but I don't think he's lost the team at all. Even Booker not long ago said he was doing a phenomenal job or something like that. Who knows though. Sarver is so hard to read. But the publicity around Sarver will get far worse I imagine if they get rid of him.

I read something similar about Detroit not being able to decide between Booker and Stanley Johnson...can't remember if someone overruled someone else...I think so. Funny thing is had Stanley Johnson slipped I bet a lot more people here would have been super stoked at the time, even though most were happy with the Booker pick.

Well now that our worst fears have been confirmed about Sarver, I really don't give a **** about discussing future free agents or trades for this team. No point whatsoever to this thread because we're being controlled by a f***ing idiot who now only has yes men in his front office. Might as well lock the thread.

I think we would have moved up for Luka if we got the fifth pick. It was really more common sense than a stroke of genius. We'll see how the KP trade works out. He has to stay healthy to justify a max contract, never mind the assets given up for him.

I personally think KP will not be as good after the injury. He might have a good year and then he’ll start getting minor aches and other sorts of things and will never be what he was in New York. I think Dallas set themselves back with that trade.

Surprisingly, the spanish soccer team that Sarver owns is doing well. It's funny that they have a chance to make the playoffs.

Maybe the man chose the wrong sport.

When the trade was first reported it seemed like a clear steal for Dallas, but once the actual picks came out, it was fairly even. It is definitely a big gamble for them. KP has to return to form with the picks given up + DSJ. But for them it is a worthwhile risk imo.

The funny thing is i remember that game with VC torching us. Grant Hill WAS the man covering him. So Sarver coming into the locker room at halftime to tell Hill that "VC is destroying us and he should guard him" to me doesnt sound like advice, but as more of a put down, like your man is VC and he is killing us, maybe you should try guard him.

But who knows, Grant Hill is the uber nice guy and i dont expect to ever hear him talk trash about anyone or even paint anybody in a bad light.

Nothing really new in that ESPN report that we didnt already know. He micro manages, sticks his nose where it doesnt belong, over rules the GM's and coaches, has issues with damn near all the players past and present, isnt liked around the league, and is a notorious cheapskate. Only new things were details here and there reaffirming what we already knew.

Amazing what can happen when he sticks with the owner-only role and remains hands off while leaving everything else to the professionals.

can someone associated with the Suns accuse Bob of racism or sexism that is fastest way to kick bob out. You will be safe doing whatever evil things in the world, running an once glorious franchise to the ground, insulting staff, players and fans, threatening to move to other cities just to get a renovation deal done, but say the n word or f word or b word and you are finished and be cast to deepest level of h*ll.

you won't be forced to sell for violating laws, soliciting prostitutes, beating up your wife, cheating on your wife, committing frauds, anything but saying the n word then suddenly you will cast the league in bad light and must be selling the team.

Return to Phoenix Suns
