Oden, Durant and AD were in between those two groups. All of them would have been ranked well above Doncic as a prospect. John Wall too.
As good as Doncic is now, and I thought he should have gone #1 in the draft just as I’m sure you did, the fact he had so many doubters discounts his elite prospect status.
Maybe. I guess it's subjective in that respect and it wasn't universal as with LeBron and Zion.
I was still more convinced of Doncic last June than I am with Zion right now. I also think Zion could be great but I think Doncic was more of a sure thing.

if Zion isn't a sure thing then there's no such thing as a sure thing. he's literally as close as you can get to a sure thing.
i would legit be shocked if this guy doesn't win multiple MVPs, and I don't think that's hyperbolic.

He'll have a hard time getting those shots at NBA level. Proper NBA defenses and players like Rudy Gobert can slam him to the ground.

It depends what you are saying he's a sure thing to become. If it means all star then I'd agree. If you are taking it to mean future mvp candidate/winner like you mention above then no I don't agree. He still needs a legitimate outside shot imo to reach that level because I don't think he's going to be able to do that without one like Giannis has. I could be wrong but I'll be more or less rooting for him to succeed though.

Green font? No one is slamming anyone with 280lbs of muscle to the ground. You have it the other way around. NBA level athletes don't match up with him. Once he learns the pace of the NBA, he's taking heads.

He does share a ton of similarities to Randle in terms of play style.
That said, he's an infinitely better shot blocker and defensive player than Randle ever was in HS or College. Randle was terrible defensively. Not to mention the fact that athletically, these two are in completely different universes.
If Randle can do what he does now in the NBA, I can only imagine the havoc Zion will cause. He's basically Randle with GOAT level athleticism.

The Lakers *should* be willing to deal 35 year old lebron for zion if offered (whoever wins Zion would never in a million years offer it of course).
Expiring uni-10th seed is a nonstarter.
Luka is probably the closest comp. The man-child Zion is a beast and instant much watch TV as already seen.
