Really, though, no company should be stockpiling wrestlers. It's a stupid business practice, as it's a massive waste of money. Meanwhile, things that actually improve the show like pyro (makes certain wrestlers feel more important) and custom sets for PPVs (makes them feel special and not like a slightly less sh*tty version of Raw) are too expensive, likely because they've got millions of dollars in contracts for wrestlers who don't even get on TV.
If I took over WWE tomorrow, my first act would likely be to release about half the damn roster because it's so bloated with guys who are either bad (like Corbin) or who have been ruined by years of WWE booking (which is sadly a good chunk of the roster).
Would make for an interesting exercise. I'd like to open this up to you and the rest of the board, if you could cut 10 current WWE wrestlers (male & female) on the main roster, who would they be and why?
Here's mine:
1. Natalya - horrendous on the mic, the definition of wooden, robotic, and bland
2. Nia Jax - careless in the ring, hasn't progressed one iota
3. Dolph Ziggler - i dont see any amount of booking that can salvage the damage they've done to him, plus he's paid very highly
4. Viktor - hasn't done bumpkus on the main roster
5. Konnor - see his partner's reason above
6. Jinder Mahal - not good in the ring or on the mic
7. Dana Brooke - see explanation for Jinder
8. Rhyno - im assuming he's still on the roster, if so, why? He's well past his prime, and never was a great mic worker
9. Apollo Crews - he's athletic, but he's short, that alone means they wont push him, plus he's hasd no character development at all
10. Tyler Breeze - they've made him completely irrelevant, doesnt have the size Vinny Mac wants
