just watched the recap/highlights.....fournier man.....seems like a good dude but he has clearly regressed in some aspects......he's more coin toss than T-ross, you never really know which fournier will show up. Just don't have enough consistent scoring and balance, would've been nice to have Bamba and Fultz who knows what they've would've brought but at least they got talent. Clifford to me seems to have made small adjustments, i guess he doesn't want to go to far away from what has worked in the second half of the season.....BUT....it's the playoffs man, by any means

Decent player with great defensive ability, he got plenty of love today.

i agree, not a fan but that Seems to be the plan by managementRainwater wrote:fendilim wrote:Rainwater wrote:

True. But the Raptors werent really a lock to make the playoffs during their first run at it. They made a td trade that traded away rudy Gay, and made the playoffs. We can say the same for this team, arent we like top 3 in net rating since Allstar break?
As for the Fournier and Isaac rotation. We can keep put all defenders on the floor, but if we’re down by 10 and cant score it wont make a difference. Fournier has been a better offensive player than Isaac especially towards the end of the season. Clifford just had to stick whats been working for him all season. Tbh, I’d love to see a lineup of Ross, Fournier, Isaac, Gordon and Vuc. Ross is quick enough to defend point guards and fournier can defend the two. Its not like dj is doing anything good tonight anyway. With the offense being systematic, i think it has the chance of working.
I get what you are saying but what Happened to the Raptors is not the norm.

Truth. In that Detroit, Miami, Char, Brooklyn, Washington tier.
Brooklyn and Char actually have good wing and guard prospects though. They are built with depth and adopted modern basketball. Detroit and Washington are F’d because of their roster construction and bad contracts. Orlando will probably fall into the latter than the former if we start giving fringe allstars and 6th men big deals.
We are seeing eye to eye

Dang i wish i had been able to catch this one. 5-19 for KL? Who made that happen? No one hit over 5 shots, save Siakam. If only we could score.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.
Boo.

Gordon and Isaac were both very good on defense today despite what some people are saying. Also funneled him into the paint for tough contests with Vuc too.

I expect management will feel priced into re-signing them. All-Star nod for Vuc, first playoff berth in 7 years, gotta keep it going right? Would be a hard sell to casuals to let them walk and take a perceived step backwards. Well the reality is, we really maximized things this year just to barely make the playoffs, and let's not pretend like the previous unsuccessful Vuc years never happened. I think it will be a mistake to bring them back (even though I like Ross a lot), but I expect that's what we'll do. We'll know in a few months I guess.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Really good post, this really explains the situation the magic are in.

Re: Playoffs G3: Toronto Raptors (2) @ Orlando Magic (7) - A Reptile Dysfunction
live and die by the jumpshot, we barely attack the cup even though we have some guys than can do that. It's just not the way we run our offense and that's on cliff, why can't we run pick and rolls when AG, Isaac or anyone is the roll man? In this offense the only players involved in pick and rolls are DJ and Fournier, DJ rarely attacks unless he has a wide open layup but most of the time on the pick and roll he goes "Ring around the Rosie" dribbling the air out the ball getting nothing done. Don't get me started on Founier on the roll with his weak ass floaters that almost never drops.
Clifford should just put AG and Isaac in the pick and roll, have them running downhill/straight line to the cup. They should either score or get to the line, i hate having to rely so heavily on the jumpshot. When the jumpers isn't falling we look like trASSh

I’m fully expecting them to resign Vuc and Ross. They will roll forward with this roster for however long they can for all the reasons you named. Posters on this board aren’t casuals and I’m surprised there aren’t more people expressing these concerns instead of just having false optimism.

My Mom, who was a doctor, warned me about getting Fournier. Do yourselves a favor and don't google it.

You keep adding to the team, not letting key players walk. Keep your key guys and add and retool where you can.

Are we really betting on our future on Fultz? Is this the only margin of improvement for this team this offseason? I hope we can resign Vuc and Ross. They both are the game changers for Magic.
Maybe, we could look at a trade if we want to improve?

The improvements will be either via trade or internal.

I reckon AG or Isaac pick and roll wont work because of the switch everything scheme. What works now is the 1&5 pnr which basically if you switch causes mismatch. It worked the whole of game 1.
