I'm under the impression that Isaac is making Siakam work VERY hard for his points (particularly game 1) when he's guarding him. Definitely had some blow bys and some mid-range shots that have gone in over him, some contested threes, but a lot of times, Siakam is doing work on switches and transition dunks/layups where Isaac has nothing to do with that at all. Otherwise, Isaac is making Siakam use a lot of energy/pump fakes/aggressive drives to score if he's on him. Am I crazy?

He is the only guy this year that I feel really handles Siakam well. IMO I think isaac has been your most important piece although Gordon has been solid as well and I'd listen to that argument. Offensively the magic seem like a trainwreck collectively. Being a group that has relied on the vuc pick and roll/pick and pop all year to produce... there doesnt seem to be any other offense outside of Ross bombing 3s. isaac doesnt really have a defined or practised sweet spot/go to move to produce points. Will be interesting to see what he adds to the toolbox in the off season.

I’ve been impressed by Aaron Gordon and Issacs aswell. Both are much better defensively then I thought.

I used to think Gordon was a guy you keep until you can find something better but he has a better all around game than I thought and can play multiple positions. Beginning to remind me of one of my past faves in Shawn Marion.

Turns out Kawhi played with the flu last night. I knew something was off.

I like the comparison of marion.

It would be very interesting to see Gordon in an up tempo offense with a guard that could get him out running the break. He could be frightening in transition.

Jonathan Issac has double the amount of FT attempts while only attempting 7 shots in the paint the entire series (while playing a total of 29 fewer minutes than Siakam).

In fact, every single Magic starter (save for Fournier, who is tied with Siakam with 4FTA this series) has attempted more FTs than Siakam and none of them have attempted even close to as many shots in the paint (the closest is Vuc at 18 shots in the paint this series).

The Magic shouldn't have lost many of their reg season games if they found the secret way to never foul anyone according to these refs

It is pretty obvious at this point that the refs have an agenda. Anyone who does not see this is completely clueless.

Raptors:Magic

FT per game (13.7 vs 22.3) - Raptors are dead last

Drives per game (53.7 vs 43)

3PT Freq (37.8% vs 42.6%)

So a team that had the lowest FTA in the regular season (19.2) and only had a 36.1% 3pt Frequency decides to shoot much more 3pt (42.6% frequency in playoffs) yet are still able to get to the line more than in the regular season? WTF is that

Kawhi is 3rd in Drives per game at 19.7 yet 20th in FTA
Siakam is 21st in drives per game 11.0 yet 96th in FTA
- right there with plumlee, kurucs, Mcdermott, Temple attempting less than 5 shots and playing less than half the minutes.
- People ahead of him
- Treveon Graham (2 FGA, 1.3 3PTA), Anfernee Simmons(plays 1.8 mpg), Napier

I can only imagine what a series with the sixers will look like

Siakam is impressive. Teams have to pick their poison between putting their best defender on Kawhi or Siakam right now. Not sure why Toronto doesn't go to Siakam more often. He dominates smaller players in the post.

muscle memory with most players, kawhi comes off and fred van vleet comes on late in the first quarter and siakam should be the first option right there but fred literally dribbles the clock out every possession and treats himself like a first option. Nurse is not strict at all with his players and lets the chips fall.

Late game Kawhi usually is the go to guy but today siakam had mismatches the whole 4th he should of got the ball.

Siakam is such a stud. Toronto does a good job of moving the ball and creating mismatches then attacking like god damn vultures.

Also, Siakam has only drawn 4 total fouls in the series. In 120 minutes, living in the paint at a level superior to everyone else in the league so far. He's drawn as many fouls as Grayson Allen has in 14 minutes. He's having a phenomenal series so far, considering he's only turned the ball over once and has been guarding smaller players on the perimeter.

The league has a breakout star on their hands and they're giving Wes Iwandu more benefit of the doubt :noway:

Raptors won't advance past Philly at this rate with this lopsided officiating. Sixers will have like a 40-10 free throw advantage with Embiid and Simmons getting preferential treatment every game.

Siakam averaging

24/10/3
59% TS

So far in playoffs against a team he struggled with in regular season

He’s turning into a superstar

This is largely in part due to Marc Gasol. He has completely changed the way we run our offence. Even when he isn't on the floor - the team has just learned to be more selfless.

Touching on a few posts above - I agree that Gordon is very solid. I didn't realize he could shoot the ball the way he does. He is a talent man. At least he's playing like one this series.

I just want to leave this here...I find it interesting.

Embiid game 1 - Total FTA = 18 .....................Total Drives (g1) - 6

Paul George game 3 - Total FTA = 17 ...............Total Drives (g3) - 11

Kawhi + Siakam game 1,2,3 - Total FTA = 17 ......Total Drives (g1,2,3) - 92

I don't enjoy blaming refs for losses, it's on the team to win. But this discrepancy is questionable

Jesus...thats bad. I hope the Raptors organization send the league office "tape" just like the Warriors did with Beverly.

Yes, everyone knows the league is out to get Toronto. We hear it every season that they get no respect. Nevermind the fact Embiid and George are both known to play for contact or that Siakam has more uncontested drives than anyone in that list.

Both Embiid and George post up a ton, this is a little skewed.

Embiid and PG are definitely better at drawing fouls...it's still ridiculous that a guy like Siakam who's in the paint as much as Giannis only has 4 FTAs in 3 games.
