I'm not overreacting and saying players like Mitch are doomed, but his development as a player as the league continues to change will be interesting to see. He's so far away from playing in a significant NBA game (aka playoffs) at this stage that it's still hard to project how he'll fare in high-stakes games.
Still very confident in him obviously, but the Capela on/off stats against Golden State caught my attention.
Mitch should be a better all-around defender. He's quicker than Capela and should be much more effective in switches; he's also more explosive and quicker off his feet. We're hoping he's a bigger, more athletic, and better version of Capela. Even guys like Gobert, as great as they are defensively in the regular season, worry me in the playoffs because of their lack of lateral quickness. I'm hoping to avoid that concern with Mitch.
