Makes you think what? That’s regular in Canada.
That’s not why he speaks French.

How much do we still have to give up then and also what money would\could we have left over for veteran help?
In theory, we would have a MAX slot left to build the team

Lets say Pelicans have no interest in DSJ or Knox or Frank
If we traded Barrett, Robinson and the Mavs picks, that would clear a lot of cap space for them instantly and they don't have to be locked into players they might not even want but would that be legal though?

We could absorb AD in the scenario, I believe.
We're under the cap, so the 125% restriction doesn't apply.
I think we would have ~$10M left, but that's quick napkin math.

Interesting
If they are also able to unload Frank in a separate deal that would create another 5 mil which would give us roughly about 15 mil in cap space plus the 4.5 room exception . The 15 mil could go to a vet PG and the room might be going to Deandre Jordan. Lets say the rumor of us being interested in Scary Terry are true, just to give me a name to use to fill that starting PG slot
Rozier / DSJ
Dotson / Trier
KD / Knox
AD
Jordan
We know AD can slide to the 5 and Knox can be shifted from 3 to 4 so that would essentially be the main rotation I guess. A couple vet min signings to fill out the rest of the roster
Can that compete?

I think that puts us on Philly's level.
I'm not sure if I would go beyond that.

With each passing day im falling more in love with this kid.
I'm starting to think he's the real prize this year NOT Zion...And thats not to say
Zion wont be good at what he does...

I think I would still stick with DSJ if we get RJ and see how it goes for a year or two but I do see why you are not optimistic about the fit.
But if there’s a possible way to trade our pick and get Wiseman or Edwards next year... see ya RJ
James Wiseman is a stud. The team that lands him next year is so fortunate.
Where's he projected to go in mocks?

You promised to be good for a month. Experiment aborted?

RJ takes some bad shots, but so does every single aggressive player in the history of basketball.
There were so many times in Duke games where the shot clock was running down and either Cam Reddish or Tre Jones couldn’t make a play so they dump it to RJ with like 6 seconds left on the shot clock and he’d work to get a shot. Go watch the games, dude. It explains PART of his average shooting percentages.
The Knicks need a dog like RJ. People throwing out the Wiggins comparison is way off. He plays with a much more competitive edge and focus.
Calling him selfish is a cop out answer for someone looking to just stick to an agenda.

no it’s not a cop out answer it’s reality. Y’all just want to get defensive and distort reality because we’re in the range to select him.
we see right through y’all. be happy we have an opportunity to draft him but don’t try and bs us we’ve been watching him all season. He has serious issues with tunnel vision and his decision making he’s not the perfect prospect.

OF COURSE HES NOT THE PERFECT PROSPECT. HELLO!! “We see right through y’all” - nice answer bro. Complete lack of creativity in a response with no substance.
Ok so he has “tunnel vision” and throws a pass or two a game that make you scratch your head, but have you been watching the playoffs? Every single star player throws bad passes, takes a bad shot, doesn’t rotate on defense here and there, etc.
And you can believe me or not, but I have watched all season I don’t need a damn Tron Carter telling me what I did and didn’t do lol.
Back to the main point. RJ is not a selfish basketball player. Bad shots and some bad passes doesn’t give him that title. It would have been selfish of him NOT to be aggressive cause his team needed it in the worst of way.
