He is convinced that they would never put that out if they were still thinking they were getting KD. I actually thought the same thing when that rumor came out about Kawhi. Why would they wait until now to let it be known that they're interested in Kawhi when they could of done that weeks ago? I agree with this guy and think they did get word that KD isn't coming to the Knicks so they quickly went to the next best option which is obviously Kawhi.

My take is that its not the Knicks that issued that release to the press, but the Warriors' front office, why? To create distractions.
It's common practice between teams in high stakes and one that the 90's Knicks durung a ECF series employed.
Michael and the Bulls were playing I believe in NY game 2 and it was released that morning in the tabloids that Michael was in Atlantic City the night before.
The Bulls lost that one and MJ went back to Chicago with a hord of reporters painfully hounding him about the report.
Instead of a distraction, Michael got pissed and the rest is history.
The Knicks organization is one of the most secretive in sports. Trust me they are not worried about the Nets news. They are really comfortable having young stars and lots of pics.
For contemplation.
Perhaps they've already told Kyrie's reps they're not interested. And for the same reason why Kyrie is really not tied seriously to LA. Boston got worse this year and looking at Kyrie's past, me? I'll stick with DAngelo Russell's develop into a stud. He's waaaaayy younger and hasn't reached his ceiling yet.
The Knicks are an attractive team right now, with a potential of putting together 3 all-NBA players. No other team has those assets.
The Nets have no more assets to bring in another alpla dog. So its Kyrie, but sacrificed DRuss in the process. If this all pans out, the Nets make take a step back, in their long-term future.
