People saying the Fans cheered for getting the ball are deluding themselves. The fans were cheering for getting the ball it's true, but once they saw KD hobbling and needing help they went into a complete frenzy 10x louder than before. So don't be apologetic for them.

It is understandable in the heat of the moment the Raptors basically though they won the Finals, and they didn't do it as much as from wishing KD being seriously hurt, but because they felt that they can definetly win no. No excuse ofc, just say it how it was

You mean more than a few fans cheering the career altering injury of an opposing player? Seems like you're the one trying to distract.

1) No one knew it was career-altering until an hour later.
2) There was only a few known to be taunting.
3) Can you quote anyone on the board that were happy about it?

I am by no means a Raptors fan but I am a people fan and trying to run down a fanbase because of some hyped up morons is really not fair.

All I can hope is that most of them didn't realize how serious of an injury it was but even then it's still a bad look. It's not all Raptor fans but it is a symptom of an immature fanbase already too caught up in their own 'glory'. It definitely paints a different narrative of this series & the Warriors injury problems as this is going to be one of the first things people remember whether the Raps win the series or not which is unfortunate for this stellar Raptors squad since they really had nothing to do with that. The injury changes the narrative on KD as a guy a lot fans perceived lacked heart and commitment to his team too, it's quite a 180 of opinions.

Toronto is a huge city full of all kinds of people no different then huge cities everywhere. The whole US perception of Canadians being super polite is nonsense...trust me as someone whos lived in Canada my whole life mostly near Toronto thats complete crap.

Now Toronto is a great city...but its full of good people, bad people, crazy people, etc just like anywhere else. I think after Toronto made the finals and somehow managed to celebrate with zero arrests...that gave people an unrealistic view of the city. People are people no matter where they live.

It wasn't a gruesome injury though. I'm sure a lot of people didn't even know what happened.

If it was gruesome injury like PG or Shaun Livingston then you would've probably been able to hear pin drop.

That's a fact. Toronto does have class. We obviously didn't show it last night but to say we would do the same thing if it was an apparent gruesome injury is stretching it my friend.

It wasn't just a "few" fans though, it was thousands of people, they were even chanting "F**K KD" in Jurassic park. There's more than enough clips now to see it wasn't just a few people......

Just like in the arena, they started to cheer when he limped which is exactly when the Raptor players told them to stop.

It was more than a few, that's hyperbole. The point is that it's still a small proportion, players and media have not bought into this story. Only this board seems to irrationally care even though no one can point to a single poster that cheered on the boards.

This is the "Warriors are dirty players" or the "stay classy Cleveland" moment that happens every year when people cling to a reason to tarnish the excited fans of the championship team. At least it's consistent I guess.

All I have to say to all this is how common is it to hear and see a couple thousand fans cheering on and waving off an injured player? That's not normal, cool, or acceptable.

I don't get why people assume you have to literally name every fan of the team and show they're a bad person to say a fanbase is toxic for their actions as a fanbase.

Outside of Philly and Boston (both known for having the worst fanbases in the 2 other major professional sports) who else has done this?

We know this isn't true, there is tons of footage of other teams fans celebrating injuries like jerks. Hell KC celebrated their own QB getting hurt one year. Sports fans can be horrible but hardly means a whole fan base is.

What other evidence do you have to suggest that Raptors fanbase are toxic? Is it just this or are there more incidents?
