Even though he was worst non-rookie defensive PG in NBA last year? Only Trae and Sexton worse. Backcourt defense would be awful. I guess many Suns fans have never cared much about defense, but I'm not sure how far we can go without it.
It seems that many Suns fans are drawn to deficient basketball players i.e Dinwiddie, Clarke, Aminu, Collison which is probably why the Suns are in this situation now because Sarver is also a suns fan who is drawn to deficient basketball players. Hopefully James Jones and Monty can rub off on some of these fans and Sarver
Jackson too. Those guys are all far better than Jackson and likely better than he will ever be and Dinwiddie and Clarke have their weaknesses but they also have some great strengths. Dinwiddie just doesn't fit well with Booker defensively. Aminu is a great defender and decent 3 pt shooter...he would help at PF...he isn't a stud but far better than someone like Randle or some others mentioned. Collison not great but good at what we need and far better defensively, from 3, and ast/to ratio than a guy like Dinwiddie.
Lol. I knew you or someone would bring up Jackson. I think the major difference though is that Jackson is only 2 year pro and those other guys are all veterans and Clarke is a question mark. I think if you like Clarke though I can’t see why you don’t have the same hope for Jackson. At least jackson has better measurements than Clarke and he hustles and works hard just as much as Clarke. I agree I don’t like Dinwiddie with Booker or anyone else on this team because he doesn’t pass the way a pg should. He’s a shoot first combo guard. Aminu is an ok defender definitely not good enough to be worth starting. Collison is a career backup who’s managed to trick everyone by going to teams who don’t have a pg and then leaving or being pushed out once that team gets one. As a backup he’s ok as a starter with this suns team we’re in for another long season.
