And 26 year old AD isn't 27 year old Howard. Dwight carried his team to the finals. AD has won one playoff series in 7 years. Howard is a joke now but at the time he was an absolute force.
What? Howard was coming off a back injury and from then on was not half the player AD is.
AD hasn't played a full season in his entire career. Nobody thought Howard was done when the Lakers traded for him. It just turned out poorly. The point is the Lakers had a similar situation in the past that blew up on them. To think this is a lock for a finals trip is ridiculous. If it's just aging LeBron and AD I don't think the Lakers are likely to make the finals. They are a definite contender though.
Those Lakers also had a better supporting cast. I'm guessing the win total estimates for the two teams entering the season would favor the Kobe/Howard Lakers.
I don't think it's a lock for the Finals by any means.
But why should I believe AD won't be the same great player he has been for the past 7 seasons? At 26 years old?
Comparing him to Howard is ridiculous. They are two totally different players and situations. Just because they both went to the Lakers, you're going to expect the same thing will happen?
Dumb man. Just dumb. AD will in all likelihood be a top 7 player next year at worst. 90% of basketball enthusiasts would bet on that.
