Guess I’m more of a visual guy. I like to see the reactions. Don’t really care about the tv analysis it’s trash. But ideally I’d be able to see the live thing and also read about it.

Literally nothing more give up than "talk about"

Yeah, this for me 100%. I don't understand the frustration about "spoiling" the picks, and staying off twitter. I don't need to see guys in suits putting on hats and talking about being ready to get to work. I want rumors and trade info. And I'm getting that on twitter well before the broadcast.

If you just want to see the reactions, what difference does it make if you know who is about to go on stage?

I mean do you all also like to read about the ending to tv shows before you watch them? There’s a physical element I enjoy when a guy gets picked even if the commentary sucks

If I know ahead of time it’s monumentally less interesting.

loserX wrote:Apparently official, though don't know if it deserves its own thread: Atlanta trades #44 to Miami for a future 2nd.
So now the Hawks are down to 5 picks this year?
I've been hoping Miami could get a second round pick.
nba.com wrote:The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club has acquired a conditional 2024 second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Miami Heat in exchange for the 44th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, it was announced today.
Miami also spent their $3.1m.
Turns out Miami spent only $1.88M and gave up range 51-55 on the 2024 SRP:
2024 - 31-50 Own; 51-55 to ATL; 56-60 to CLE
Here is their cash status:
Cash available to send: $1,563,000
Sent $1,800,000 to Suns.
Sent $1,880,000 to Hawks.
That's more cash retained than I thought when I posted. Looks like an inexpensive second round pick, and in this draft I think they will find good value in the #44 range.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Oh, I get it and understand. I just tend to hang on Twitter, and if there’s any interesting reactions, it usually makes it pretty quickly onto Twitter. To each their own.

I’m always on Twitter for my job and so this is a blow to me. But yeah it’s all about preferences.

I dunno, I don't really see the 2 as similar, but, like mentioned, to each their own. The draft is more a means to an end for me, versus the entertainment and story of a television show.

Yeah basically the reason we still have a draft despite any rational argument to the contrary comes down to that a lot of dudes really enjoy this soap opera/awards show type of television event.

I guess you like to read about the games instead of watching them then too? Keep your snide remarks to yourself.

No, the better analogy would be that I prefer to both watch and read about what happened in the actual game rather than seeing what the players were wearing beforehand or which sassy remark one of them made on social media or which hot take some ESPN talking head crapped out.

Go back to the general board with that noise we’re adults here on the trade board.

Alright guys, let's keep it civil, please. Some of us prefer the tweets, others prefer without. That's all okay.

Yeah and I didn’t say otherwise. But one random poster wants to try to paint enjoying the visuals as a soap opera I’m not letting it slide. That’s GB type crap.

What is the point of delaying free agency? Why couldn’t it be pulled back and start now or earlier?

The negotiations start on June 30, during the moratorium where all the numbers are crunched and audited by both the league and players association so that things like the cap, luxury tax line, MLE, BAE, max contract offers, etc, all have to be figured out.
