I would assume in the 25 to 35 range 50% of those players are out of the league in less than 5 years, 40% of them end up being solid bench players good enough to stick on an NBA team, and only about 10% of them end up being good enough to be long term starters in the league.

You just described Bruce Brown.

Looking at the last 11 years, the people that fit into that category have been right WAY more than they've been wrong. Maybe it's time to put some respect on their basketball knowledge and stop trying to vilify the Piston fans that aren't blind homers since they seem to be the only ones that know what they're talking about.

Ding ding ding. Winner winner

And there it is. It is 100% undeniable that if you, as a fan, crapped on every move the Pistons have made for the last decade plus, you’d have been right FAR more than wrong. And that makes you a bad fan or bad person?

Exactly. LOL. And the guy they got can actually be useful, too. There are people that just get off on constantly complaining.

The guy we got is bo-bo and is signed to a bad deal. Why are yall acting like he's good?

Personally I don’t care if he ever touches the court and just want that pick. We are so low on assets that we are to the point of hoping to God one of these picks turn out.

No, it makes you **** annoying. How many more ways are you and the other crybabies going to inform us of how much you think this team sucks, how every move is trash and how everyone is garbage?

I don't think we can generalize about who has been right all the time. I personally don't mind negative opinions, it actually creates a discussion which is the purpose of the board. I do have less respect for those that are negative and can't come up with an original idea of their own, especially one that is realistic.

Maybe that's the difference between some of us on this board. I want us to compete and surround Blake and Dre with talent. Some here believe we need to continue to build through the draft.

I just dont understand how yall want to build in the draft when we dont have someone like Dumars picking players in the draft. Ever since Dumars left we've been picking busts after bust, after bust.

You just don’t understand we don’t have the assets to do what you want. Your trades just aren’t realistic especially when the guys you want like Holiday aren’t even available to begin with.

You want big names then you better hope some of these draft picks workout so you can actually offer something without getting laughed off the phone.

Selling the farm for a guy like TJ warren isn’t exactly smart when we have no depth and no way to acquire it to resemble a deep playoff team.

This is the new regimes first 1st round pick, isn't it? It is ridiculous to say the Pistons have not had a GM with decent picks since Dumar's and put that on Stefanski.

They share a demeanor.

Snell was much more confident and dynamic offensively in college.

He lost all that with the Bulls. If they can find that, It’s a major come up.

He’s a solid shooter and defender.
Real playing time does wonders. Maybe he can start and get looks. His shot is 1st class but he needs to get a chance.

Money this year is better than money next year, at least as I see it.

Of course it is. But its not like teams are going to stop trying to get better, and other teams stop trying to shed money.

On the flip side of that argument, there will also be less teams with cap space next summer. So the teams looking for cap space to facilitate trades, will have to pay a steeper price because supply will down.

It’ll be less of a sellers market than you’re thinking is the point I was making, with fewer teams looking for space.

There will be fewer teams with cap space, sure, but teams still make their plans based on who they could sign, and you’re not going to get a better prize for cap space if fewer teams are in that market to bid against each other.

We don't yet know exactly what the pool will look like next summer.

With Durant and Klay getting hurt, they could easily just sign one year deals and be free agents again next summer. Its definitely possible that Kawhi signs a 1+1 type contract with Toronto, and he'll be free again next summer. Its already been reported that Anthony Davis intends to test free agency next summer.

That's 4 absolute studs that could very well be free agents next summer, with limited teams having available cap space. Am I saying Detroit could sign any of those guys, nope. But they very well could take advantage and profit from teams looking to open space.

The worst is the rise in some users where they only go after people who are critical of the team while never clarifying what their stances are in their argument. In fact these guys don't even have an argument, they just point it out to criticize the criticism. It's toxic.

Thank God most people on here have original ideas and or a stance where they stand on, you can't argue with people who don't and just exist to criticize critical opinions.

Well TJ Warren was traded for absolutely nothing. A perfect player for our team. Shoots 3's at a high percentage, plays decent defense. Cap space means nothing to the Suns because nobody in free agency will go there. Plus we could have sweeten the deal by offering the 15 pick.

Now what is there to say about our GM? He's great for adding Snell, right?

Sh#t, look what our GM just did today. You trust this guy can pick talent when he just traded for Snell with 24mil left on the books? Come on bro

Maybe we are flipping Snell right away to the Clippers so they can use him to recruit Kawhi. Looks like Gallinari is getting traded today.

The Pistons did not have the cap space to absorb Warren and the Suns were not taking back salary. It really is not rocket science.

Madness, you say its unrealistic but I say our GM is being creative man. I said earlier TJ Warren would possibly be traded for trash and look what happened. We missed out on an opportunity to trade for a guy who's shoots well from the 3 because our GM isnt dangling that 15th pick.

Eh Snell is a corner camper 8th-10th man on the bench type. #30 pick is cool I guess idk trade is just meh, doesn't really do anything for the short term as in make the team any better.

They just didn’t want to take back salary in a deal which was impossible for us. You were right though about the Suns letting him go for nothing though literally which I never seen coming
