So I would target a PF.

Bobby Portis makes a lot of sense. I don't expect him to accept the MLE but you have to ask.

Noah Vonleh isn't the player he was expected to be but he is an 8 ppg / 8 reb guy who can occasionally block some shots and hit some 3s.

Would someone like Jabari Parker be willing to take such a small deal for the sake of consistency and re-booting his career? While flawed, he is still an offensive spark plug. Ross has shown us the value of that off the bench.

It is quite evident that when we resign Ross and Fultz is healthy guard is not as big of a priority as most of people here think. We also have Frazier who is first round talent wise. ( this year he would end up in tue twenties). Most of the need theme is fueled with Fournier hate and he still even in his down year was big part of the playoff rotational which happened to be second youngest ( and propably rawest) in the NBA. I know i am the only one here but give me Clarke, Williams or Claxton. In the free agency there are a TON of underrated rotation worthy guards opposed to forwards and god knows Weltman will sign some miracoulus contracts to our heart content.

Frazier did not show 1st round talent this year. didnt even show 2nd round talent.

But Bamba did and we have a logjam at center position ? :) I think Frazier did fine in Lakeland. Not a star but propably rotation worthy in the future.

Any real info on Frazier's timetable for injury? I'd like to see him get a full summer league and camp to see who he can be. Sometimes "lost" rookies have a big first offseason- almost like those redshirt guys who get to absorb the NBA speed, coaching, etc

Once the dust settles - blockbuster? re-sign Vuc & Ross & Birch? draft picks?...this will be a fun offseason filling out the roster with bargains. So much depends on Fultz and Bamba...you could say we're pretty good at every spot and we could either solidify depth or move some pieces for "great" at a spot or two. I honestly wouldn't rule out Mario for $2m at backup 2/3/4

Yes, not sure why he is a 1st round talent either, if he was a 1st round talent, he would have been drafted in the 1st round last year, not this year when he is one year older, coming from an injury and when the odds to be drafted in the 1st round as a Senior player are really low.

Now, where do we upgrade with the MLE? Need more/better shooting off the bench.

Can't assume. I could easily see us going BPA and that potentially being a big.

FA targets with MLE
:
Bojan Bogdanović
Ricky Rubio
Derrick Rose
Al-Farouq Aminu
Patrick Beverly
Darren Collison
Jeremy Lamb
Bobby Portis
Wesley Matthews
Austin Rivers
Isaiah Thomas
Dewayne Dedmon
JaMychal Green
Rodney Hood
Corey Joseph
Seth Curry

I like your plan. As for options with our MLE, we should go after an enforcer big, so I'd add Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Ed Davis and Faried to your list.

Think Woj and Shams both said Boston going pursue Vuc now. Makes sense to me. Losing Al and Kyrie. They have space. He seems to make sense for them. Fascinated to see what we do with Vuc. If we do let him walk I can't imagine Evan staying the whole year and I see us backing out of the playoffs again. Hopefully not for a long stretch again.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

I think we will resign Vucevic. He is a good guy, he doesnt like drama. We have no tax, he has a house here, he has small child and his buddy Evan aswell. If its Boston i am not worried. If Nicola stays he is locked to start for us for the next 2-3 years and in Boston Ainge is known for stabbing in the back with trades. We showed Vucevic we like him here. We can even lose assets not trading him becouse we want him to stay, it shows a ton.

NOW FREE AGENCY BOYS and GIRLS

Its time to balance the roster (unlike draft).

Dj/Fultz
Fournier/Frazier
Gordon/Iwundu
Isaac/Okeke
Bamba/Mozgov

1.Resign Vucevic and Ross

2. Try to sign undrafted Shamorie Ponds and Jontay Porter. (and so many others King, Jeffries, Norvell,Hoard, Lawson, Wilkes, Reid, Zoosman)- why we needed second round pick this year remind me ?

3.Hunt for Bargain$. Look at our depth chart, we dont have any glaring needs !!!!
KCP
Burks
Dudley
JaMychal Green
Lamb
Joseph
Hood
Rivers
Ed Davis
Satoransky
Bullock
Portis

I wonder if the team is interested in any of the undrafted FAs like Jalen Lecque, Ky Bowman, Tacko Fall

I like the kid from Tulsa. Run it back with Vuc and Ross. I don't see Ainge overpaying Vuc, so why would he leave? Use the midlevel exception for the scoring wing we didn't draft (Lamb?). Get everyone under sensible deals and then hunt for the big trade without taking a step back. If Fultz and Bamba (and Evan) come around, we're similar but significantly more upside than last season.

I would give Vuc a two-year max before I gave him a 4-5 year contract. Dear god, please don't feel pressured to do that Weltman. It would 100% come back to bite us in the ass down the road.

Some nice stuff in that video can get to the basket and finish and has deep 3pt range.

Return to Orlando Magic
