Ringer has Rubio to the suns as a "head scratcher"

No surprise. Simmons dumps on Sarver every chance he gets and his guys all pretty much do the same. The only head scratcher is the cost. I understand the why.

This will work if he has the ball to make plays. This will be a disaster if he plays offball to point Book.

Anyone have a clue what type of system Monty Williams would run?

17m a season for ricky rubio. Even he must be laughing his a$$ off.

BUT, it could've been worse. Solid distributor. Just overpaid. Beverly would've been perfect considering we're the sons. At least we didn't get Rozier for god sakes.

I'm a little surprised he'd even come here after we fired Igor

Not many teams needed starting PGs when we signed him. We basically gave him that contract being the only team needing a starting PG and now will repay Oubre after market has dried up probably.

Are you a fan of another team that had him as coach? Why not a fan of him as coach?

Knicks have DSJr, Lakers wouldn't want Rubio...I think if they don't get Kawhi or DLo they may go after Beverley. Magic I don't think have space, and still have Augustin a year...and have Fultz through his rookie contract if he can ever do anything.

Bulls might go after someone but drafted White and still have Dunn....I think they used their space though.

DSJ is not a PG
Lakers might want Rubio if they strike out on Kawhi and miss out on everyone else.
Magic at the time i believe had the space but went with Ross shortly after
Bulls have space, White won't be ready for a couple of years and Dunn was never the answer.

I get your point though, we probably overpaid a bit but it's not that bad.

We definitely overpaid. I don't think there's any question about it.

I believe I remember seeing that Minnesota was interested in reuniting with Rubio, but was turned off by how Indiana seemed like a sure thing. Bulls may have been interested in someone to help bring White along. Lakers and Clippers will both need to fill out their rosters if they miss on Kawhi. Market probably wasn't that big and we overpaid, but it's not like it's a huge overpay. No one would have batted an eye at $45M/3 years, and this is just $2M per year more. It's pretty on par with his last contract too.

Not a huge overpay. Again, I'd take Rubio over Beverly, Rozier, and almost anyone else on the market. Brogdon I'd probably have paid $21mil for, but it's likely if we wanted him he'd have asked for more.

I like Rubio but I’m really worried about his shooting when playing off ball..
Probably want to stagger a lot of his minutes with Booker

I’m fine with it. Could have been a a lot worse. Would have preferred Russell or Beverley but thankful we didn’t sign Rozier or Joseph.

yeah, once Rozier got $19+ per, nobody was going to be available for less than $15.
