I don't care what okc gets. Get Russ to the heat. He deserves it.

When do we have their picks? Several years out right?ThunderBolt wrote:How would it even work with Miami? If we make them better, we hurt ourselves since we have their picks.

Sometimes I feel like me being a fan of the franchise and not of specific players puts me in a minority group of people.

I'm with you. I don't care about these players as people at all. I thought I did but over the years as faces have come and gone I've realized I don't.ThunderBolt wrote:Sometimes I feel like me being a fan of the franchise and not of specific players puts me in a minority group of people.

Re: Thunder Offseason Thread
a dragic + johnson + herro trade for westbrook just seems like a clean baseline to me. could probably do more around it if necessary even given miami's cap situation. dragic is a flip candidate.

Isn't Herro pretty good? I saw several stats (Summer League disclaimer) where he was torching it.

We are just going to sign as many former UK players as possible.
What about Winslow?

These Westbrook/CP3 trade suggestions are beyond stupid.

Three team trade with... someone? And Dallas? And we don't keep either Paul or Russ obviously. Dallas gets Paul, Miami gets Russ, we get ??? Excuse me FOUR team trade. Can't do math there.

I've lost complete faith in Presti at this point. The gravitation of stars to Los Angeles and New York has also made me more cynical about the landscape of the league going forward.
It feels like the team just has inevitable concerns even with Presti recouping picks for PG. A) Presti will either squander the picks on something stupid. B) The ownership will cheap out even in the event that the team hits on the draft picks because thats just the way they lean. C) The players that are drafted might just leave for greener pastures even if the team pulls a 180 and starts doing things properly just because of geography. It could be any one of those three alone or any combination of the three.
If Giannis leaves Milwaukee that will just drive the point home that small market teams are just not viable markets for NBA teams that want to win anything. They will simply be relegated to being farm teams for big markets which is how things used to be and now they have started to slide back in that direction unless the league tries to prevent it with wholesale changes to the cap, revenue rules, and max player contract structures in the next CBA.

I think the heat are hard capped. It's not impossible I suppose but it will be tricky. Either San Antonio or Miami are where I would want him to go.

To your point it is a bit depressing that even Toronto couldn't hold onto a Star. That's one of the top cities in all of North America. (Then again it is balls cold)Osirus89 wrote:ThunderBolt wrote:

CP3 + picks is better IMO, picks are superior to any combo of mediocre players we get from Miami.

Our weather is similar to NY, so that wasn't the issue for us. It's mostly that people aren't educated on the legitimacy of Toronto as a city and still see it as some tiny garbage place, even though, like you said, we're one of the best cities in NA.

If Miami are keen on Westbrook and can't offer up picks I'd happily accept Dragic + Winslow + Herro for him.

I'd heard at some point that part of the headache of playing/coaching there is having to go through customs for every road trip. Which seems nuts to me. You'd think they'd have some sort of special accommodation.

Hamidou what I want
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Riley would have to be senile to make that trade.
Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
