I want this to happen. GMs are overthinking. At the very least we have about the same talent as 2018 OKC in a much weaker conference. That makes a contender in the East.

I'll say this, if we do trade drummond in this deal for westbrook, Adam's absolutely has to come back as well.

Westbrook
Kennard
Draft pick
Blake
Adam's

Is still a damn good team. I'll be upset, but scew it I guess. I'm that tired of reggie, and I want to win damn it.

He’s flashy and a big name but he’ll never be the star of a contending team. The playoffs this year was a final thesis on that. I’d be really upset if we gave up a lot of future assets for him. We’d be a worse version of the Thunder from last year. Russ plus bad shooting is a bad look.

And I feel for Russ. I really do. It’s just not a good idea. That deal tops 40 million the year after next and stays there until a year after Blake expires.

you're over thinking it...what are we all doing for the next (kawhi, lebron, Curry or Giannis) 5 years? nothing...and by that time his contract will be over...as long as you don't give up the next generational talent its win win...Westbrook will bring excitement and you know what -he may even grow up after seeing star after star leave him and finally look in the mirror...If I'm 10 teams in the league I trade for him with out a thought...

Reggie barely played and when he did we werent that good

Honestly i hope we get rid of Drummond for Adams, Drummond will require a big deal and Adams is much tougher and doesnt sulk like Andre

Adams is also usually right up there with Dre on ORB% too while seeming like a smarter player

Exactly and much more mentally tough as well

Drummond is too concerned with getting his own and becoming a star and household name, we dont need that in our locker room or on a Pistons team

Westbrook and Adams embody the Pistons going to work attitude and toughness

So true. I'm kinda pumped for this now. Would love if we could keep Luke and Snell. I know they're nothing incredible but they are probably penciled in as our starters and will spread the floor beautifully for WB and BG.
Can it be done though?

Here's the deal guys

Rockets can't make a trade for Westbrook. It's too tough. OKC doesn't want Paul's contract

OKC doesn't want players back, they want picks so we have more to offer than the Heat. Also The Thunder own 2 of Miami's picks, why would they want them to get better? Makes no sense

Wolves are centering their trade around Wiggins who's under contract for 4 years like Westbrook and extremely overpaid. It's just not gonna happen for Wiggins.

I'm reading that Westbrook wants Adams to get out of the team with him.

Pistons can make the best offer with picks and can trade Dre for Adams, so:

Reggie Jackson, Drummond, Snell plus Kennard/Pick
For
Westbrook and Adams

Only question I believe we are trying to answer is how many picks and young guys? Doumbouya will not be involved as he cannot be traded for at least 30 days. I get the feeling it is Kennard plus a pick, 2 max. Likely one of them being Top 5 protected
Defense wins championships

Even if we get RW for nothing but a couple bums and a couple picks, I'd pass. When the best shooter of your three best players is Blake Griffin, you aren't winning anything. The East is weak overall, but Philly and Milwaukee are way better than the trio we'd have.

A Drummond + RJ + 1rp + expiring for Westbrook and filler is good in my book. For WB and Adams we robbed them.

I would pass on the deal if 1st's are involved, including this year's. Westbrook's a fantastic individual regular season stat player, but he's not a winner. He doesn't play winning playoff basketball. He's not worth mortgaging the future of this team even further than it's already been mortgaged. His addition doesn't make this team a contender.

Steve Kyler

For what it’s worth, doesn’t look like Orlando has much interest in a Russell Westbrook deal - you never say never - but not something they are exploring.

Stop mortgaging the future. #1 sign of a dumb team is mortgaging the future to sign players that won't get you a chance at a championship. RWB is a fun to watch player but with his huge, 4 year contract and declining athleticism you'd better GET (not give) at least 2 first rounders for him. Smart FO's don't give up future assets for Albatross contracts. Blake isn't bringing you a chip. RWB isn't bringing you a chip!
Blake + CP3 = no chips.
RWB + Harden + KD + Ibaka = no chips.
RWB + PG = No chips.

How is RWB + Blake going to lead to a championships? That's just putting 2 guys together that can't win championships with players better than them.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Im not agianst a rebuild but its not a sure thing with trying to build though the draft. We could easly end up like the Suns, Orlando, or even Minny. You try to get players like WB Blake in the draft. Why wait 4 years from now when you could potentially get this season?

We aren’t winning a championship anyway. Why not enjoy watching the team anyway?

If y’all could make this trade they should try to figure out a way to get Marc Gasol in some 3 way deal with a team that would want Drummond, Miami rings a bell and I know Charlotte was interested, I’m pretty sure Toronto will try to flip him as long as a team makes it worth their while, but Gasol would be such a good fit with Blake and Russ y’all would have to be taken serious as a legit threat to come out the east

Vic, well said sir.

Liqourish, I understand the impulse but the Dubs and Raptors? I'm recalling that was once considered a pipedream too.

RWB appears a declining physical talent who doesn't have much of a shot to fall back on. Several quality players didn't appear to like to play with him. He's hella expensive. Pro or con, you have to admit it's risky?
