I would move Hayward. But not for freaking Westbrook.

Re: Celtics General Offseason Thread Pt. 10: Free Agency is in Free Flow
If you could get Gordon/Capela for Hayward, what’s the ideal third team to include to take EG and send back someone/something else? In theory you could include Jaylen or the MEM pick, like
Hayward to HOU
Eric Gordon, Jaylen Brown, Yabu to WAS
Capela, Beal to BOS
Kemba/Smart/Wanamaker/Edwards
Beal/Langford
Tatum/Ojeleye
Theis/Grant Williams
Capela/Kanter/Poirier/Williams ?

                        Hayward to HOU
Eric Gordon, Jaylen Brown, Yabu to WAS
Capela, Beal to BOS
Kemba/Smart/Wanamaker/Edwards
Beal/Langford
Tatum/Ojeleye
Theis/Grant Williams

I think this is all bs. Presti and Ainge keep things close. Sounds like an Ainge move and I'd be good with it...but it's just too convenient and unimaginative to be legit.

Re: Celtics General Offseason Thread Pt. 10: Free Agency is in Free Flow
I'm so gald this rumor didn't die. I think Capela is the missing piece for us to be able to compete with MIL and PHI.
Now hopefully we can make the package around Brown instead of Hayward and I will be happy as a clam.
Kemba
Hayward
Tatum
Capela
Kanter
Smart
Edwards
Langford
GWill
Theis
That's looking like a balanced roster. Then we can focus on get a vet presence on the bench and we're battling with anybody.

Eric Gordon+ trades, that’s the opportunity if we move Hayward..
Hayward to HOU
Eric Gordon to mystery team, maybe with other BOS players
Capela and mystery player(s) to BOS
Kyle Anderson? Justise Winslow? EG/Yabu for Tristan Thompson? Evan Turner? Gallo?

Well they are both good rebounders. Capela is a lock down paint guy and Kanter is a decent scorer. I think it's solid.
Plus you can go small with Capela because of how good he is defensively. so you could have some
Kemba
Smart
Hayward
Tatum
Capela
Lots of options when you have a good defensive big.

Ones a poor 3 point shooter & the other doesn’t shoot outside shots at all. I don’t want them both on the floor together ... ever.

No, just no

Capela is a decent C whi needs plays made for him. Hayward is a playmaker that would be stupid

Smart/Brown/Tatum for Westbrook, who says no

Capela is borderline elite defensively, rotating, guarding the pick and roll and protecting the rim - and a plus rebounder. Whatever we lose defensively with Kemba, he’d make up for it.
A healthy Hayward is more impactful, but swapping him for Capela would fully commit to Brown/Tatum and give them the year to do their worst..
If you can flip EG in the same deal for Justise Winslow, maybe add Rob Williams, Yabu and a 1st going to Miami..
Kemba/Smart/Wanamaker/Edwards
Jaylen/Langford
Justise/Ojeleye
Tatum/Grant/Theis
Capela/Kanter/Poirier
You could be the best defensive team in the league even with Kemba at the 1.. and your ceiling is Brown and Tatum’s.. the only risk is that if they’re not ready, you’re a 40 win team.. if they are, or they’re close - you’re 45-55..
It’s a training wheels off scenario..

FYI - I think Hayward is the most likely to be moved still, heard a rumour of it still happening but I honestly have no idea what it would be for.
Even with brad and his relationship? U think Stevens would co-sign that? and if not would danny even consider it?

Don’t see Westbrook as a fit, not to mention that contract
I have thought it through over the last hour or so and I am all in on this idea. Kemba can play off the ball and Boston would be pushing the ball at a pace that would make Tommy proud.
To some extent you have to evaluate your opponents. To me the biggest obstacles in the East are MIL and PHI, their strength and their weakness is their size. Two ways to counteract that one try to match that size defensively difficult to do, the other is create a small ball match up that doesn't allow them to utilize their strength. Their back courts suck and they would have a nightmare dealing with Westbrook and Walker.
I question Westbrook's late game judgement but not his heart and effort. I think Brad could help and I think he would defer those 37 footers to Kemba anyhow that is what he does.
Everything has its price but if a couple of firsts and Hayward gets you Westbrook friggin sold.

Can be executed now:
BOS gets Paul George, Luka Doncic
LAC gets Gordon Hayward
DAL gets Jaylen Brown
September trade:
BOS gets Zion Williamson
NOP gets Jayson Tatum
December 15 trade:
BOS gets Kawhi Leonard
LAC gets Kemba Walker
All legal trades. All parties gonna be happy with that. Except maybe the Clippers, Pelicans, and Mavs. We still wouldn't have a starting center though. Can't always get what you want I guess.

Kemba, Hayward and Tatum are all good shooters. Kanter is good in the pick and roll and Capela is a good rim runner. There's nothing wrong with that line up.

If we give each franchise a tour of the historic Fenway Park for a 25% discount I think everyone goes home happy & they accept the trades.

Re: Celtics General Offseason Thread Pt. 10: Free Agency is in Free Flow
Do not want Westbrook....maybe 2 years ago or right before he signed the extension and right after KD left. He’s 31 but completely reliant on athleticism and signed for 4 years. Don’t wanna be the team who has to pay him as his athleticism declines.
While everything I see and hear or read about him is his teammates love him in the locker room, it’s his on court style that they don’t always enjoy. Not to mention he treats okc media like **** can u imagine Boston guys?
Wait for beal or someone else to become available. If it’s beal he has 2 years left on the old max - 27 million or roughly around what we would pay Jaylen next season and we could probably make it happen while keeping Hayward.
Kemba
Beal
Hayward
Tatum
That’s a legitimate chance. If u don’t like Beal- fine but staying patient is better than taking on guys for their name like Westbrook.
