This is perhaps the most reasonable and thoughtful post that I have seen from you. I don’t agree that The Rockets will be a first round out but I do agree that this trade doesn’t improve their chances to compete for a title. This move does however smack of desperation on the part of Morey, a person who I feel thinks he is smarter than everybody else. This move will certainly bite him in the ass at some point.

Russ is def the better player over the duration of that contract. You guys are underestimating how much impact competent roster construction and coaching will have on his game.

The Rockets will have perhaps the worst defensive backcourt in the league. And Mike D is way overrated as a coach.

dude can win..he has proved that
he just needed an attitude change and I believe this will do it

This is such a Morey move though. He thinks he just outsmarted and out-maneuvered the whole league. I don’t think this move will pan out for them at all.

What has Russ won? Russ isn't going to change and has said so repeatedly when asked about it. Can you name a worse volume shooter in NBA history? Do you think you can convince Russ not to take 20 shots a game in the playoffs and shoot his team out of the first round? I'll give you a hint, the answer is two letters only.

Is there anywhere else other than Miami where we can see CP3 being moved?

i don't think it is though. imo he would have wanted a return similar to what we might get for chris paul. it has been reported that james harden pushed for this trade. morey hasn't been one to acquire players based on who his players want until fertitta bought the team.

russ won the west once..anyway
of course he is going to say that to the media..if he doesnt realize the **** now that he keeps getting left behind
I believe he will shoot less..Mike will make sure of that
rockets need him to drive and dish..assist and rebound if hes there
this will work..lets make a bet
russ will lead the league in assists
rockets will go to wcf!

Ok, fair enough but two things:
1. The players are driving movement like this in a way we have never really seen (Harden pushing for Russ, Kawai pushing for PG, etc)
2. Morey has made eyebrow raising moves in the past (the Anderson and Gordon contracts) and he is perpetually tinkering with the roster.

But you are probably right that ownership played a fairly large role in this. And the rift between Harden and Paul was real.

How long of a list do you want? Miami, Detroit, Minny, Orlando, Phoenix, Chicago, Washington and as really long shots I could see NOLA, Dallas and Sacramento trying to get in there.

Two part question about trading about OKC trading Adams + CP3 together.

Do Oklahoma City fans think Prestie would trade CP3 + Adams for experings?

Would OKC fans be in favor of that move?

no..why get expirings.. its all about assets at this point..young guns and the draft or good players..thuner can still be exciting and unless paul can go to lakers or bucks or something..he'll stay and compete...but he wants a chip..okc wants a future..so

I get what you are saying but can you give me an example of this type of thing you are talking about happening before with players in this league.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
