I would say less than 5% chance this team makes the playoffs. IMO they finish anywhere from 10th to 13th in the conference. Maybe 35 wins at best.
The only team that finished ahead of ATL that will definitely be worse than ATL is Charlotte. And there's a chance that Chicago could be better than ATL as well. Might jump Washington, but that's a big maybe considering they'll have Wall back.
Hmm, I notice a subtle change in your profile. A lotta CHI teams but one that's a little diff'rnt. Nice.![]()
Seriously though, I can see us in the 10-12/13 range too but that should/could put us 2-3 games out of a playoff spot. Considering some of the 8-13 range teams will opt to tank at that point, and we won't, it's more of a "possibility" at that point.
And on CHI, I think they look better on paper than they'll look in actuality. I have no confidence in Boylen .. well, let me rephrase, there's not enough of a track record to assume Boylen will be able to navigate the guard situation such that they'll definitively be better than us next year.
White looks good in SL but what is he? He's not a point guard, and that's fine. But, since he's not a 1, where/how do he and Lavine fit? Neither play defense. Lavine is uninterested in it and, by virtue of the fact that he's been paid, is he now one of the "Aye they pay me to score, not play D" types? The answer is unclear.
What is crystal clear though is he and Devin Booker are probably vying for the record for worst personal winning percentages of all time.
I think we and CHI will be the class of the EC soon. We each have questions though. I feel they have some upheaval left to do though such as trading Dunn and Lavine(?).
Agree on all of that especially the stuff about the Bulls. And yes, I finally committed and made the change from Bulls to Hawks in my profile. Should've just done that last year.

I just want people to temper their expectations for the season. Don't want to see a bunch of disappointed posters later in the year if the team isn't in the playoff hunt. Aside from the natural improvement of our young guys, I'm not even sure this team will be better than last year's team. We got deeper but younger at Wing. But we lost depth and talent at center. And we have no back up PG to speak of as of now.
